At CLAY, we build more than lasting spaces. We work to build trust and lasting bonds with our clients, employees and community. We aim to be a company that actively strengthens the places we call home and are always considering new and fun ways to do that. Did you know that Sept. 9 was National Teddy Bear Day? We celebrated by collecting teddy bears for Ronald McDonald House Charities - hats off to our team for their contributions!

The need for support among members in our community experiencing both housing and food insecurity is at an all-time high, and I’m proud to be part of the leadership team at Out of the Cold East End — a fully volunteer-run charity working to meet essential needs for shelter, food, and warm clothing. Beyond these physical needs, we are committed to fostering compassion, dignity, and a sense of self-worth among our guests.
For organizations and teams looking to make a direct impact this holiday season, consider organizing a Holiday Drive in your workplace to support Out of the Cold. Contributions of essential items — especially toiletries like deodorant, shampoo, and oral hygiene items — are critical to supporting the well-being and dignity of our guests as we address homelessness and food insecurity across Toronto’s East End.
If you’re interested in setting up a Toiletry, Clothing or Fundraising Drive, here are a few simple steps to get started:
1. Connect: Please reach out to our team to discuss needed items and logistics for collecting them.
2. Engage Your Team: Please spread the word on internal comms channels and make it easy for colleagues to participate by providing designated drop-off points or creating a registry of essential items.
3. Amplify Your Impact: Please share your drive on LinkedIn and other social networks to inspire others to join, expanding our collective impact even further.
With even one small initiative, your team can make a meaningful difference this season. (You can see our program in action on our Instagram feed at https://lnkd.in/gfHKH8zv .)
Please feel free to contact me or anyone tagged here to learn more. Every contribution helps, and we’re deeply grateful for your support.

I don't pretend to be an expert on this, but this is one of the many reasons I love working at Feather Down Farms. As a society, we're witnessing the rise of screen addiction among our children, I know we are as a family.
Recent studies have shown that prolonged exposure to screens can lead to issues like sleep disturbances, obesity, poor academic performance, and even developmental delays. 😔
Here are a few steps I have started to try and implement in our house:
📺 Set Screen Time Limits: Establish clear guidelines for screen time and stick to them. We encourage outdoor activities, reading, and imaginative play as alternatives.
🤳 Lead by Example: My children often mimic my behaviour so I am conscious of my screen time and leave my phone in other rooms of the house to remove the temptation for me to scroll or respond to messages
💻 Create Tech-Free Zones: Designated areas in our home where screens are not allowed, such as our dining table or the kids' bedrooms, to promote quality family time.
🏕️ Enjoy a Feather Down weekend often

In today's fast-paced digital age, it's easy for children to become glued to screens, losing touch with the wonders of the natural world. Yet, amidst the hustle and bustle of modern life, there lies a treasure trove of benefits awaiting our children - the great outdoors. 🌱
Whether you live in a busy city or quiet suburbia, the benefits of enjoying the great outdoors span beyond just fresh air and sunshine. ☀️
In our partnership blog with Go Beyond charity, we unveil the multitude of benefits for children when they head into the great outdoors.

Marketing Q&A - Q: How can I use social media to support local community initiatives or causes? A: Highlight local events, charities, or causes that align with your brand values to demonstrate community involvement.
Only a small percentage of today's Christian givers use tax-efficient techniques for giving more wisely. Most Christians are unaware that they could be giving substantially more to fund the work of the charities they are passionate about. What about you? If you'd like to make sure you're aware of the valuable tools and strategies that smart givers are using to make a greater impact, here are our top five ideas:https://lnkd.in/gu9hu8uR

Critics say, 'True charity is done in silence.' But here's a perspective:
Every time you share that beach sunset, you inspire someone to travel.
When you post your fitness journey, you motivate others to get healthy.
Then why not normalize sharing the good we do?
That photo of you at a beach cleanup might inspire ten others to join next time.
Your post about monthly donations to a shelter could remind someone to support their local community.
That story about teaching underprivileged kids could spark a chain of volunteer sign-ups.
I say - DO IT! Not to show off, but to show up – for causes that matter, for communities that need support, for changes we wish to see.
Because sometimes, all it takes is one post to turn inspiration into action.
So next time you help someone, consider sharing it.
Your 'show-off' post might just be someone else's wake-up call to give back.
