"The Best Party Ever!" Pulling together an unforgettable 60th birthday bash is all about the details—and it’s the behind-the-scenes magic that makes everything run seamlessly. Jen + Tim’s incredible party was a true highlight for me in 2024, and hearing their guests rave about it being “the best party ever” was the cherry on top! From finalising the run sheet to coordinating vendors and even booking extras like Green Jersey shuttle buses to get guests home safely, every little detail came together beautifully. Communication, logistics, and those ‘invisible’ tools like site maps and schedules are what transforms events into extraordinary experiences—and they’re my bread and butter! It was such a joy to step in and take the reins so Jen + Tim could focus on the fun stuff (like celebrating!) while leaving the juggle and queries to me! If you're planning an event, there are some questions that you should ask. Here's a few to get the ball rolling... "What's the capacity for different layouts?" From theatre-style conferences to intimate dinners, understanding how space can be used will impact on other aspects of the event, such as where to position your speakers and what space to use to serve breakfast, lunch or dinner. "Tell me about your in-house AV capabilities" Having AV and tech support on site is crucial when you are delivering presentations and switching between systems and virtual or in person sessions. Make sure you have the support you need before you turn on the laptop! "What are my catering options?" Exceptional food can make or break an event. Try to find a venue that has a resident catering partner, so that you can rely on the quality of the food and service. "What support do you provide before and during the event?" Your dedicated events manager should be your partner from start to finish. After all, you need someone that quite literally knows the venue inside and out.
