Ever wonder why standard wine bottles hold 750 ml? The story dates back to the 19th century and involves English and French trade ingenuity. As avid importers of French wines, the English needed a practical way to align their imperial measurements with the French system for easier trade and stock management. They created a standard bottle size that would neatly fit into an imperial gallon, resulting in the 750 ml standard we know today. This size also proved ideal for preserving the quality of wine. Today's wine cases, commonly sold in 6 or 12 bottles, continue this legacy, a nod to the past where practicality met tradition. Delve into the fascinating intersection of bottle design, history, and preservation in our latest piece. https://lnkd.in/djGHmFMf #Standardization #BusinessTradition #Glass

We are proud to share a standout moment in our journey that illustrates the profound impact of thoughtful design on branding within the wine industry. Our W Series wine racking system goes beyond merely storing bottles—it became the catalyst for a significant rebranding effort by Fidelitas Wines. This esteemed Eastern Washington wine producer saw an opportunity to enhance their brand visibility through our racks, leading to a strategic redesign of their bottle labels to ensure they are displayed to their best advantage on our system. Jess Zander, the former General Manager of Fidelitas, reflected on this decision, noting, "Our bottles are designed to be showcased on their side, an innovative approach inspired by the racks themselves." This collaboration underscores the vital relationship between design and functionality, showcasing how innovative storage solutions can inspire creativity and lead to remarkable brand evolution. It's a testament to how wineries and restaurateurs can leverage design to create a more engaging and memorable brand experience.
