I’m delighted to announce the opening of our second public cloud region in Saudi Arabia, located in Riyadh. This marks a historic and significant milestone in Oracle’s three-decade strong journey in the Kingdom. Part of our distributed #cloud strategy and a US $1.5 billion investment to expand cloud infrastructure capabilities in KSA, the new region will help boost the Saudi #AI economy, which is expected to reach US $135.2 billion by 2030. The Oracle Cloud Riyadh Region joins the existing Oracle Cloud Jeddah Region and the planned Oracle Cloud Region in NEOM to extend Oracle’s footprint in #SaudiArabia. Opening a new cloud region for Oracle in Riyadh offers several benefits: For example but not limited to, - Improved Performance and Latency: Locating a cloud region closer to users in the Middle East reduces latency, which can significantly improve the performance of applications and services for customers in the region. - Data Sovereignty and Compliance: Many countries have regulations requiring certain types of data to be stored within their borders. A local cloud region helps businesses comply with these data residency and sovereignty requirements, fostering trust and meeting regulatory standards. - Strategic Advantage: Having a presence in Riyadh strengthens Oracle's competitive position in the Middle East.
