When you open Instagram, it’s to catch up with family, friends, and brands you already know. But with TikTok and YouTube, it’s a different story. You’re immediately dropped into the explore page, where the content reflects your interests and hobbies, and you’re ready to discover something new. This shift in user behavior matters. As a brand, understanding these platforms’ unique purposes helps you create the right content for the right place. On Instagram, focus on connection and familiarity. For TikTok and YouTube, think about entertainment, education, and discovery. Tailoring your strategy to each platform = better engagement. #SocialMediaStrategy #InstagramVsTikTok #ContentCreation #PlatformStrategy

The scariest thing just happened to TikTok... And it proves why putting all your eggs in one basket is the biggest mistake creators make. Look, I get it. You find a platform that works. You grow fast. You make money. Life feels good. But here's the scary part - everything can change in one day. I just start posting on TikTok. Boom! Platform banned. Just like that. But I'm not worried. Want to know why? → My content lives on LinkedIn → My videos are performing well on YouTube → My posts getting attraction on Instagram Here's what smart creators do: 1. Pick 3 platforms minimum 2. Post same content everywhere 3. Build email list from day one 4. Make your own website 5. Own your audience Remember: Platforms come and go. But your content should live forever! P.S. Quick tip to grow on multiple platforms: → Make one main piece of content → Cut it into 5 small pieces → Post big content on YouTube → Share small bits on other platforms → Point all traffic to your email list

To all the content creators out there, I see you. Waking up to the news that TikTok has been shut down is a gut punch, and I can only imagine the wave of emotions you’re navigating right now. For so many of you, this wasn’t just an app—it was your livelihood, your business, your creative outlet, and a connection to a community who sees you fully. Losing that in an instant is a blow that’s hard to put into words. If you’re feeling grief, anger, or even just numbness, know that it’s valid. You poured your time, energy, and passion into building something meaningful, and that kind of loss stings no matter how strong you are. To anyone making light of this situation, I urge you to think twice. Imagine investing years into something—whether it’s a physical storefront, an online brand, or a digital platform—only to have it disappear. A loss is a loss, no matter what form it takes. To my fellow creators, you’re resilient. You’ve built something incredible before, and you can do it again. But for now, take the time you need to grieve. You’ve earned that. And for anyone who doesn’t understand, let’s hope they learn to lead with empathy.

TikTok was an interesting place to be this weekend… It featured a revolving carousel of teary ‘goodbye’ videos, requests from creators for followers to follow them on Rednote/Instagram et al, and questioning what happens next… Remarkably, what I didn’t see were requests from content creators to join their mailing lists. Whether you’re building a Community, a Subscription business or simply sharing free content such as Podcasts, a mailing list is essential. That has been true since digital marketing first began (and what I used to lecture the music artists I managed on back when social media was still in its infancy). It’s just as true now. You don’t own your following on any social media platform. When it disappears, so does the audience/community/livelihood you’ve built with it. As a content creator, digital marketeer, or business founder, the item that you can own, with the highest value to you, is still your mailing list. A mailing list allows you: ✔️ Direct connection with your audience/community/customers. You control how and when you connect, knowing that your mailing list subscribers will most likely see your mail. ✔️ The ability to promote/sell your services and products directly to those who are most engaged with what you do. ✔️ Higher return on investment - your audience actively opts in to hear from you on email, leading to stronger, more loyal long-term relationships. For creators, a mailing list is much more than just a safety net in an unpredictable digital landscape. But if that’s all it was, it would still be worthwhile. The TikTok non-ban isn’t just a cautionary tale for creators - it’s an opportunity to improve and uplevel in their business. #contentcreators #tiktok #subscriptionstrategies #subscription

This trend is taking TikTok over. This video go +500,000 likes. Here’s why: Breakdown of the latest trend. What is it about: Creators lip-sync to this *Death Note* sound to show moments where they’re holding back excitement for a big win. The twist? They add a funny or relatable text overlay: - Me when my new Wizz friend hasn’t realized how funny I am yet. - POV: You’re about to match with someone just as obsessed with memes as you are. - Me realizing my daily walkathon points will cover tomorrow’s coffee. Why does it work? Relatability: We’ve all had moments of anticipation where we couldn’t celebrate just yet. Humor: The dramatic tone makes even small wins feel hilarious. Simplicity: It’s easy to join—all you need is the sound and a fun idea. How you can use it? This could be a great fit for any app that rewards patience or planning! Imagine using this trend to create clever, relatable content that resonates with your audience. On Ramdam, your brief could be ready in minutes, with creators lined up to bring your idea to life. I’m Xavier, Co-founder & CEO at Ramdam. I post daily about trending creator ads.
