2010 | Dynamic 52 Catamaran | $1,170,000 negotiable - Hard to fault this luxury passagemaker Don't think for a moment that the condition of this 13 year old power cat will look anything like her age. Imagine instead that you're stepping onto a recently built immaculate 'Demo' boat. This power cat is as close to 'As New' as I've ever seen. And I've been boating for over 50 years. A veritable floating home, the Dynamic 52 struck this writer as more of a dwelling than a mere cruising conveyance. The cabins are akin to bedrooms, the heads are like bathrooms, and there are balconies with water views on both living levels. Even the onboard laundry isn't to be sneezed at. 💰Economy is everything. With twin 315hp Yanmar 6LPA-STP six-cylinder turbo-diesel engines, top speed is 18-20 knots. 💪The hull is vacuum-bagged around a foam core, the accepted way to get strength without weight, leading to a modest 22,000kg (dry) displacement, especially when you consider the volume of this vessel. 🛏️Three double cabins, each with ensuites 🚿3 showers plus rear deck 🍴The galley is equipped with Bosch four-burner cooktop, convection microwave, Miele dishwasher and Corian counters. There is so much to love about this cat!!! Most yacht owners only spend ~2 days per month actually at sea Meanwhile ~10% of the total cost of the yacht is burned annually on maintenance Maintenance typically includes - Crew, captain, equipment and provisions - Repairs, replacements, and fuel - Dockage, shipping, and relocation fees - Taxes, reporting, and more Yacht ownership is very similar to opening up a small business which you must manage 24/7 on your own. Not to mention you are also limited to the location of your personal yacht. The end result brings the industry saying: “The happiest days of a yacht owners life are the day they buy or sell their yacht” Fortunately, Yachting is Evolving. To many, laying in the sun whilst waves slowly lap at a shoreline is the quintessence of relaxation. In recent years, however, this romantic view of a coastal summer has become increasingly accompanied by a droning orchestra of jet skis – something that French authorities are now looking to silence. Jet skis have been controversial since they first appeared in the 1970s. Noted for their noise and an association with antisocial behaviour, Greenmatch, an environmental group, also says their increasing numbers are now “responsible for a substantial share of hydrocarbon pollution in water environments”. Whilst jet ski use has indeed surged in France, pollution isn’t the primary motivation for the ban. Local authorities instead cite the flouting of safety rules with high-speed races and “rodeos”, accompanied by the annoyance they cause for beachgoers and the dangers they pose to swimmers, paddleboarders and wildlife, as the reasons for limiting their use. Two southwestern resorts, Arcachon and Lège-Cap-Ferret, will ban privately owned jet skis this summer. Only hire companies approved by the councils will be allowed to operate them. A number of other resorts, including Argelès-sur-Mer near the French-Spanish border, have also introduced bans. Philippe de Gonneville, the mayor of Lège-Cap-Ferret, said the ban, which will be effective from June 15 to September 15, is “essential” to restore tranquillity on local beaches. Authorities have also emphasised their commitment to effectuating the ban; Germain Stoldick, director of Arcachon port, stated that “security forces will be extremely vigilant in enforcing these restrictions”. Bob Morana, the head of a jet-skiers’ association in Cannet, has rebutted the validity of these regulations, divulging that “10 per cent of jet skiers cause problems and the rest of us suffer”. Regular riders have instead proposed a yacht-like regulation of jet skis, whereby users must have a licence and pay an annual fee that would allow the authorities to keep track of any dangerous behaviour. If the ban is imposed in line with the aims of local authorities, those travelling to the French Riviera this year may be in store for a comparably serene summer. Architecturaly styled yachts can offer a better guest experience. Why should a yacht look like a yacht? M/Y THIS IS IT is a catamaran of 708 Gross Tonnes (GT). She offers almost double the volume from the average yacht of her length*. Yachts that are going to operate in fair weather and sheltered waters don’t need to be ice classed, have huge bows, carry massive volumes of fuel and water and be capable sailing through a hurricane. Designing a yacht to fits its purpose can open doors and opportunities to think outside the box. Most flag yacht codes and class societies offer different standards for short range vessels which allow for much greater design flexibility. This has the added benefit of not dragging around features or capacities that will never be used, creating lighter more efficient yachts burning less fuel as they go. *BOAT International Media BOATPro lists the global fleet between 43-44m at an average GT of 372. 🔽 Check out the new images of THIS IS IT at SuperYacht Times here 🔽 https://lnkd.in/eCq24aRv #superyacht #superyachts #yachting #Yacht #Yachts #marineindustry #maritime #BritishSuperyacht 🧠 Thoughts & comments will remain my own and not be 🤖 generated. _________________________________________________________________________________ ✒ I normally post about the Superyacht Industry Business & Strategy, Yacht Regulatory & Operations around the globe. A great event earlier this week in London hosted by Caroline Hillier and the Moravia Yachting team. I was asked what's happening with vessel ownership types and chartering? “We provide solutions to allow our owners to do more. So we have registration types that will allow our owners to carry more persons on board. "Dual Use", which essentially allows the vessel to be privately registered, but still undertake up to 84 days charter, and we're seeing a huge spike in this. Our fleet is growing about 15% a year, but our Dual Use (Yacht Engaged in Trade) are growing between 20 and 25% a year. So we are seeing that as a huge growth area. The regions in which vessels can operate these are also spreading further and further east in the Mediterranean and other parts of the world becoming more and more acceptable. So we are really trying to give the owner his cake. They want to have his are cake and eat it and we're trying to give that to them through the regulatory framework.” If you have any questions at all about registering yachts and how the Marshall Islands Registry can help provide the best regulatory framework for you to do so, then please do reach out to the International Registries, Inc. team at yachts@register-IRI.com, or check out our website: https://lnkd.in/e9pvKGe3 #RMIRegistry #RMIFleet #superyacht #superyachts #yachting #Yacht #Yachts #marineindustry #maritime

Thanks to BOAT International Media for including us in this story on the superyacht sales in South-East Asia where together with our Simpson Superyachts Sales Director James Clayton we shared views on sales trends and customer profile evolution. "Southeast Asia's superyacht scene is experiencing a significant boom. According to #BOATPro, the number of #superyachts in the area has increased by 29 per cent over the past five years, going from 227 in 2019 to 293 in 2023. According to BOATPro, more than 62 per cent of yachts in Southeast Asia sit between 24 and 40 metres, whereas 70-metre-plus yachts represent approximately 5.5 per cent of the total fleet." “We believe strongly it'll be the fastest growing market in #yachting too,” said James Clayton, director of sales at Simpson Superyachts. “There's huge appeal for yacht #ownership, particularly among younger generations." "According to Clayton, the region also benefits from year-round boating conditions, meaning it is not restricted to a seasonal market. “In winter, for example, Hong Kong has some great boating, but so does Thailand and Indonesia, and all are paired with rich local cultures and largely unexplored cruising grounds,” he said. “The only thing we’re lacking is the infrastructure.” Read the full story on boatInternational.com and if you are attending the #APACSuperyachtSummit in HK this week, we are looking forward to continuing the discussion. #superyachtsales #superyachttrends #apacsuperyachts
