UNIVERSITY OF GUYANA FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY AWOL? Perennial outages. Where is the Engineering & Technology Faculty -- what an impressive faculty name -- to the rescue? Seems like collaboration amongst these departments can diagnose and fix this perennial problem with Guyana Power and Light (another state-owned enterprise): 1) Electrical engineering; 2) Mechanical engineering; 3) Industrial engineering; and 4) Computer engineering. plus, a highly skilled management structure and an army of experienced workers at GPL, with good electrical skills and know-how for the routine tasks. Key takeaway: 1) The relentless brain drain over 5 decades has come back to haunt Guyana's development with a vengeance. 2) A successful completion and operation of the gas-to-shore project would solve the electricity supply or capacity problem, but not management problems.

This figure shows the generation of the top 10 states in the USA. From 2001 to 2022, Texas is a powerhouse! Moreover, look at the slope on those arrows—amazing growth over consecutive years. Pennsylvania and Florida have also experienced good growth. However, the other states have seen little to no growth from 2001 to 2022. California is comparable to Texas in size and area, but look at the significant difference. In 2021, Texas generated 372 TWh, while California generated 198 TWh. In 2022, they generated 525 TWh, and California generated 203 TWh. Yup, the difference has increased. Why is Texas outpacing the other 9? 🏆 HIPER II is the first HIU to pass #BESA Test 🏆 Inta’s HIPER II has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by becoming the first heat interface unit (#HIU) to pass the stringent BESA Regime 3 Test, a pivotal evaluation in the construction and #HVAC industries. This rigorous pass/fail test, newly implemented by the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA Group), sets a high standard for performance and efficiency in the realm of heat interface units. HIPER II’s comprehensive assessment targeted specific operational capabilities, such as space heating and domestic hot water (DHW) delivery under various conditions. The unit excelled across all tests, ensuring reliable performance even under high demand and low flow scenarios. Notably, the Hiper II demonstrated exceptional performance in maintaining optimal Volume Weighted Average Return Temperatures (VWART), a critical factor in energy efficiency and system longevity. Enertek International Ltd. the independent testing laboratory, confirmed that the HIPER II met all performance criteria, with specific tests highlighting its capabilities in both high and low-temperature operations. The results indicate that the HIPER II not only meets but exceeds current industry standards, making it a top choice for residential and commercial installations where efficiency and reliability are paramount. Neil S. National Specification Manager at #Inta, said: "We are incredibly proud that the HIPER II is the first HIU to pass the BESA Regime 3 Test. This achievement underscores our commitment to delivering high-quality, efficient solutions that meet the evolving needs of the construction industry." This achievement places the HIPER II as the first HIU on the BESA register, setting a benchmark for future developments in heat interface technology. For #construction professionals, this means access to a proven, high-performance solution that supports sustainable building practices and enhances overall system performance. As the construction industry continues to evolve with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability, Inta’s HIPER II stands out as a leader in innovation and quality. This certification is not only a testament to Inta’s commitment to excellence but also a significant step forward for the industry at large. #Installers #Plumbing #UKEngineering #HeatingAndPlumbing #HeatingSystems #HeatInterfaceUnit #DistrictHeating #Sustainability

We enjoyed working with Elms College to help create a more sustainable future for their school. We recently teamed with them on the mechanical studies of their central utility plant for the purposes of modernization, decarbonization, and a reduction in overall energy consumption. Working with B2Q Associates and Eversource Energy, the team navigated electrical funding program incentives to help jump start the study. Our collaboration with QEA Tech resulted in a thermal analysis of campus buildings associated with the central steam plant. The collaborative analysis of thermal and mechanical assemblies, including how they function together, further quantify payback and ROI for the College. The results of the team’s study will allow the College to make informed and confident decisions on the future of their utility plant. #BuildingABetterWorld #sustainability #decarbonize #decarbonization #modernize #modernization #utilities #energy #HigherEducation #PassionMeetsPurpose

Just completed the course, "Introduction to Electricity Volumes 1, 2, & 3", offered by Los Angeles Trade Technical College! 💡 This online class sponsored by Los Angeles Department of Water and Power delved into the fundamentals of electricity, covering the operating principles of electrical power systems, the theory of AC generators and motors, load calculations, efficiencies, power factor correction, and related calculations. It was fascinating to explore these concepts in my free time while working with microgrid technology, energy meter data, and electrical one-line diagrams at LADWP. I’m always learning every chance I get, and this knowledge will be invaluable in my ongoing work. #EngineeringEducation #LADWP

RCT Power CESS 1000 has the ability to adapt to multiple scenarios, and can generate various system combinations by adding or removing battery clusters and modular PCS. For example, from a 2-hour system to a 4-hour system, from 466KWh to 932KWh, from 2-channel output to 4-channel output... It can adapt to the energy needs of different scenarios such as factories, commercial buildings, and small power plants, achieving flexible matching and multi-purpose use of one machine. Its all-in-one and modular design concept supports parallel connection of multiple machines, enabling flexible expansion and modular construction, meeting the needs of various complex industrial and commercial application scenarios.
