📢 Standing Up for Local Businesses! Today, the MENA American Chamber of Commerce held a powerful press conference addressing the urgent issue of Sheetz’s expansion in Michigan. We brought to light their questionable business practices, predatory pricing strategies, and the unfair treatment of local entrepreneurs like our member Jay Hammoud, whose plans were unjustly rejected in Eastpointe in favor of Sheetz. We emphasized the importance of supporting Michigan-based businesses that invest in our local economy, create jobs, and foster community growth. Sheetz’s model threatens to drain millions from Michigan by bypassing local vendors and disrupting our state’s supply chain. "Our communities rely on Michigan-owned stations, which are more than businesses; they’re community anchors," says Faye Nemer, CEO of the MENA Chamber. "We must address the risks Sheetz’s entry poses to local businesses and our economy." Thank you to Ali A. Berro, Esq. for moderating the discussion, Tarik Turfe and Cindy Victor for sharing their legal advisory, and Wayne County Commissioner Sam Baydoun for providing legislative avenues to pursue. Also, thank you to all who attended and supported our cause to protect small businesses and ensure fair practices in our communities. Together, we can make a difference. #SupportLocal #MichiganBusinesses #EconomicJustice #MENAChamber #StandWithEntrepreneurs

‘Growth’ is at the heart of the new Government’s economic and political strategy. Its ability, or otherwise, to grow the economy will go someway to determining the future size and shape of our public services and the general state of the UK balance sheet. Whilst there has been such a relentless focus on the term ‘#growth’, Danny Herbert (#Brand and #Marketing strategy expert) questions why so many 2020s businesses seem to lack urgency and focus regarding selling. What are your thoughts? Chris Smith CATALYST Dan Barlow #businessdevelopment #sales #economy #westmidlands #midlands #coventry #birmingham #wolverhampton

THERE ARE ‘REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL’ AT THIS YEAR’S BUSINESS LEADERS’ BREAKFAST Last week 140 Business Leaders’ from across the County gathered at Invest in Shropshire’s annual Business Leaders’ Breakfast event. The event has taken place every year since 2017 and regularly attracts businesses and partners from all over Shropshire. Highlights from the morning included the customary update from Mark Barrow, Executive Director Place at Shropshire Council. Mark reported that the county’s economy is recovering well from Covid and there is much to celebrate. Last year Shropshire received a record number of business registrations, the county is well-positioned to take advantage of a burgeoning green economy, and figures are revealing that Shropshire is a place where people want to locate their businesses. Andy Begley and Mark Barrow highlighted the work of the Marches Forward Partnership, a ground-breaking partnership of four English and Welsh councils. This partnership aims to maximize the untapped potential of the Marches area, of which Shropshire is a major part, boosting investment in the region and creating a ‘package’ that can be offered to the global marketplace. Other contributions came from Ben Sykes a partner of FaulknerBrown Architects with an update on the latest exciting developments at Smithfield Riverside in Shrewsbury, and Bruce Gardner, New Clubs Director at David Lloyd Clubs explained the reasons for investing in The Shrewsbury Club and its future development. Businesses were urged to consider becoming ‘foster-friendly’ by Erika Ower from the Fostering and Adoption team at Shropshire Council, and finally, Leader of the Council Lezley Picton closed the proceedings by saying there were challenges but also 'brave, ambitious and innovative' economic development activities taking place across the county. “Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness.” Martin Luther King Jr. If the post office thinks they have the empathy of consumers and business, they don’t. But they are right about one thing they don’t care. When this is over they’ll just go back to running a failing business. With better pay and benefits than 90% of the public. They are concerned about a race to the bottom. Well what about the victims of this poor timed strike. The victims being businesses that were dependent on them? And the frustration of the public who will pay more for a different service to deliver what they need. Did you know that Canada Post bought Purolator and are failing with it? Why? Because it is being run like any bureaucratic institution, no risks or accountability. It has been falling for years. If you owned Purolator, you would own the delivery streets and back roads of Canada and they would be earning significantly more. Nope they lost $315 Million in the third quarter of 2024. Ironically they bought Purolator in 1992. And as they saying goes “those without Vision shall perish.” #retailing #strategy #ceo #technology #innovation #management

Sunday July 28, 2024. 9:43 AM Sunday Communication Group. Post # 2. See post #1 if you haven't. They attempt in taking over everything, take over whole sectors, industries, countries, peoples but not me or those with me. It was time for me to leave what that became because I am an ordinary Canadian who has pride in Canada and what Canada did in the past! I am just waiting for Canada to get back to doing what made so many proud of Canada for what Canada did in the past and just wondering here if what made Canadians proud is now all in the past? If you love free-enterprise than you will like learning from our Sunday Communication Group. Free-enterprise here with me is where you can land in a new land where there are opportunities and work and you can get hired if you wish to work and you can buy land and build a home and work and raise your family and enjoy the fruits of your work and enjoy and love your family and be safe and secure and the Government minds its own business and that need have nothing to do with you or very little and you can be free to trust your elected officials never having to contact them and trust their fingers in the collective bank account where your reasonable taxes are safe to be spent so you can drive on a road where the potholes are patched before they get to big and run your own free-enterprise business and hire your neighbors son or daughter from down the road and help your neighbors. I grew up in that world in Canada and grew my own business and have reaped the good things from being free in free-enterprise and I very much want that for everyone in the whole world. Sounds pretty simple and nice and one would think it should be a reasonably easy thing to grow, it is, you just have to know how and I know how here in Canada and it makes my world here in business in Canada a truly free-enterprise one and what a nice experience to have! I lived free in Canada all my life because my father walked on the boat that was going to the Big War in Europe with his duffel, he was sixteen, I was not even born, he fought Germans for five years, for my freedom in Canada. No one is ever going to take it from me ever, sorry. Father made me free, I keep me free, keep us here, we keep us free here, God keeps us free here. What do you want to happen in your life that would be good just make it happen if you feel you have tried to and you can't or something is in your way then reach out to me here, make it happen. There is so much good that can happen if people like you make good happen in the world there are lot who are making bad things happen in the world but you can make good things happen and that is all there is really to it. If we let the people doing bad things out number the people doing good things then the whole world loses When we lose free-enterprise to those who form groups to control it and us we lose our freedom to them so don't. Reach out to me here and make it happen. See SCG post # 3
