Every day, organizations across Nigeria face the same challenge: "The soft skills gap!" This gap holds back growth and productivity not just for employees but for employers too. Barack Obama said "Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek." We are taking action through the launch of a nationwide survey to identify the exact gaps in soft skills within the Nigerian workforce and bridge it with a major goal of setting a new standard for professional growth and development in Nigeria. Soft skills like communication, emotional intelligence, adaptability, and teamwork aren’t just nice to have, they ultimately influence the success of every organization. When these skills are lacking, the entire system suffers! We can make a difference together to bridge these skill gaps. Kindly fill out the survey on the link below and be a part of this transformational journey! https://lnkd.in/dyyYM7jQ #softskillgap #transformingnigerianworkforce #workplaceexcellence #crosstiesolutions

What are the recent developments in the hospitality industry in Nigeria? Recent developments in the hospitality industry in Nigeria reveal a concerning issue - politics and favoritism impacting professionals and industry standards. Unqualified individuals are often favored over skilled professionals, leading to subpar service quality. The industry faces a decline due to a lack of passion among some employees, prioritizing monetary gain over service excellence. Addressing these challenges is vital for sustainable growth. To combat favoritism in hiring, a structured and transparent recruitment process is essential. Implementing standardized interview procedures and objective evaluation criteria can mitigate bias. Cultivating a culture of meritocracy and accountability within organizations is pivotal. For instance, @BON Hotels International West Africa, we adopts anonymous candidate evaluations and involves multiple stakeholders in the hiring process to minimize bias. What challenges have you encountered with favoritism in your organization? Share your experiences and insights on tackling this issue. #HospitalityIndustry #Nigeria #ProfessionalDevelopment

Welcome to July! As we embark on the second half of the year, it's essential to reflect on our progress and set new goals for the months ahead. In these economically challenging times, especially in Nigeria, one of the most crucial keys to survival and success is to seek information and collaborations. Despite the economic indicators, some people continue to thrive. The difference lies in what they know and how they leverage their knowledge. It's a reminder that knowledge is power, and informed decisions can make all the difference. As HR professionals, we have a unique opportunity to lead by example. Let's foster an environment of continuous learning and encourage our teams to seek out new information and build meaningful collaborations. Yaay, it’s Midweek and I smell The Weekend 💃 Today, I celebrate Democracy Day in Nigeria! A hearty "Happy Democracy Day Nigeria" to all, and may this special day be a testament to the greatness that resides within each one of us. It is day 3 of the #7daysof7years series and here is my third lesson. Lesson 3: Effective Assistance thrives on Relationship. Through personal reflection, I have recognized the importance of nurturing a meaningful relationship with the executive one supports. This pivotal connection not only paves the way for smoother communication but also enhances the efficacy of the support provided. It is through the cultivation of this relationship that you transition from being just a support figure to a co-creator alongside your executive (This will be discussed more in tomorrow's lesson). Giving your best and investing in this collaborative journey is essential, setting the stage for a synergy that propels both parties towards shared success. Building a robust work relationship enhances your understanding of your executive's thought patterns commences with the establishment. By immersing yourself in their world, understanding their motivations, communication styles, and decision-making processes, you lay a foundation for tailored and proactive assistance. This deep understanding enables you to anticipate their needs, offer strategic support, and navigate challenges with finesse. The nurturing of this relationship, underpinned by trust and mutual respect, opens avenues for cohesive collaboration and the achievement of collective goals. As we continue this journey of growth and self-improvement, may we embrace the power of relationships in the realm of executive assistance, which will foster a dynamic synergy that amplifies our impact and contributes to mutual success. Dear Executive Assistant, you’ve got this! #executiveassistant #day3of7 #7daysof7years #democracyday

IT'S TIME TO CHALLENGE THE STATUS QUO! I wholeheartedly agree with this thought-provoking message: "Most jobs can be taught; give people a chance!" As someone who's always believed in my ability to learn and adapt, I call myself Jacob Aldridge😂 But let's face it, Nigeria's job market and recruiters often prioritize experience over potential. It's time to flip the script! Imagine a world where willingness to learn and grow is valued just as much as experience! Let's create opportunities for growth, training, and development! Who's with me? Share your thoughts! #GivePeopleAChance #LearningOverExperience #GrowthMindset #NigerianJobMarket #RecruitmentReform
