A battery pack is made up of multiple parallel assemblies, each comprising several cells. If a cell becomes disconnected, whether temporarily or permanently, the overall voltage might be slightly impacted, making the detection of this issue challenging. Since different parallel assemblies may exhibit varying States of Charge (SOC), their voltages can differ. However, it's the transient behavior that might hint at a potential problem. Consider an example involving two parallel configurations, each with n=15 cells. The lower voltage reading indicates a healthy assembly, while the higher one suggests a malfunctioning assembly, where m=14 cells are connected, and 1 cell is disconnected. #electricpropulsion #futuremobility #electrification #transportation #energystoragy #batterypack #batterymanagementsystem
