Mike Manges of Modern Tire Dealer wrote this excellent editorial on the recent failed legislation attempt in Washington to further regulate the tire industry. For states to reach beyond current federal standards is nothing new, and it is often the way that standards are shaped. A populist approach to regulation may be the best at hand. However, this bill in Washington had many shaking their heads as it crossed some lines in regard to data collection and access to business. #independentbusiness #tireindustry

The fight for the Right to Repair has reached a critical juncture, and we need everyone who supports the right to repair to take immediate action. We are closer than ever with 56 co-sponsors, 80,000+ letters, and 25 associations supporting the bill. However, time is running out in this Congress to move H.R. 906: The REPAIR Act out of committee to a floor vote.    Even if you have already sent a letter, we need you to reach out again. The future of Right to Repair hangs in the balance, and our collective voice must be louder than ever. If we don’t move right to repair forward this September, we need to reintroduce the bill again next year.    Here’s what you can do today:   - Send the Updated Letter to Your Legislator: Send a new letter and let them know that supporting H.R. 906: The REPAIR Act is non-negotiable for consumer choice and fair competition.  Pre-Populated Letter: www.repairact.com - Spread the Word: Encourage your colleagues, customers, and friends to get involved.
