🚩Clinical pharmacology is at the core of everything we do in early phase clinical research at Biokinetica, so attending the EACPT in Rotterdam and witnessing so many scientists working together to advance pharmacology is truly inspiring. This year, there was significant focus on factors that determine access to therapies, such as the EU's efforts to manage drug shortages and stimulate drug repurposing. As discussed during the recent Amsterdam Biosimilars conference, actual access for patients in need of modern therapeutic options requires not only scientific advancement but also true collaboration between countries, authorities, and regulators. 🔎 Discover more: https://lnkd.in/d89dFRmt #EACPT #ClinicalPharmacology #Biokinetica

In light of scientific and technological advancements, the shift in drug development towards novel modalities, and the evolving regulatory landscape, it has been proposed to revisit, adapt, and evolve the ICH-S7A guidance. An ACT Annual Meeting symposium chaired by Derek Leishman and Lorrene Buckley will discuss a concept paper with insights from regulators and experts in in vitro and in vivo safety pharmacology. Topics will include the use of adversity in safety pharmacology, the emphasis on human-based in vitro and in silico test systems, the latest validated technology platforms, principles for model validation and qualification, and the refinement of the above points to ensure the guideline is modality-agnostic and sustainable. The symposium will conclude with a panel discussion featuring Dr. Jufeng Wang and Dr. Todd Bourcier. Register for the Annual Meeting here: https://lnkd.in/ek5UQRza #ACTOX2024
