Have you ever used or heard the term “blindsided” in your military career? What about in innovation?👇🏻 📖 Blindsided means a hit that comes from outside our field of view. 🐐 There is an subtle implication of wrong doing or malice on part of the person who is accused. In Defense Innovation, we get accused of blindsiding by some less accustomed to our space. 🦄 We are set up to where any military member can come to us when they need help solving a problem. 📊 The highest frequency users of innovation are E5s, E6s, O3s, and E3s in that order. That accounts for about three fourths of all Spark Cell end users. Those ranks are usually in the field. The very nature of our job is interdisciplinary and nonlinear. This means that the path is largely uncharted. 🧭 When the path is uncharted, the journey is largely one of discovery. The thing is, we don’t know what we will discover. That also means knowing when or who to inform is a challenge. We are on the same team. Lets try not to think of it as “blindsiding”, but maybe reframe it as “the first exposure to information”. 🟡 My advice to us as leaders: Trust, love, and empower Innovation is messy. 🦋 But good things are the most likely outcome. ———— This picture below is how an innovation generated blindside is typical made—Airmen and Guardians getting together to figure it out! 🌱

I read a book titled "YOU CAN WIN" by Shiv Khera. During one of his research projects with executives in major corporations all over the world, he asked them the following question: "If you had a magic wand and there was one thing you could change that would give you a cutting edge in the marketplace, increase productivity, and profits, what would that be?" Their answers were unanimous. They said they would like to change their people's attitudes. With better attitudes, people would be better team players, cut back on waste, and become more loyal. In general, their company would be a great place to work. The most successful companies think and act effectively. They do so by investing in their most valuable asset: people. 'Never...was so much owed by so many to so few.' Yesterday, we visited the wonderful Bentley Priory Museum, dedicated to the RAF's Fighter Command and its pivotal role in WWII, particularly during the Battle of Britain. 📚Military history, can feel dense and complex for the layperson like myself, but here it is vividly brought to life through the museum's inspired storytelling. The Bentley Priory Museum uses Winston Churchill's powerful statement, "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few," as a central theme to frame the narrative of Fighter Command’s heroic efforts. This line, delivered by Churchill in 1940, was in praise of the few RAF pilots who faced overwhelming odds and played a critical role in altering the course of the war. What makes the museum’s approach so effective is its commitment to starting from the point of view of the audience. It doesn’t just present facts; it engages visitors by contextualising these facts within the human stories of the Battle of Britain. The exhibitions are curated not just to inform but to immerse, using a mix of personal anecdotes, interactive displays, and artefacts that connect on an emotional as well as intellectual level. In other words it's a masterclass in communication. By focusing on the human aspects of the Battle of Britain, the Bentley Priory Museum ensures that the heroism of those involved is not only understood but deeply felt and remembered. 💡Us marketers can learn from this approach. True engagement is achieved not by simply presenting information, but by framing it in a way that is meaningful and compelling to the audience.

Don’t read to read, read to understand. Don’t write to persuade, write to refine. Don’t speak to others, speak to hear yourself. 12) People with gun always incharge 13) Kids are happiest as the they dont have time pressure.. /Goal pressure 14) If you are hell-bent on giving the world what it wants, it will give you what you need. 15) Money doesn’t change the world, ideas do.

The founders know that, but they do not know which 80% people. – Naval Ravikant ↳ This is an interesting take on big tech companies like Google and Facebook. ↳ Naval believes the future is about small companies doing work differently. ↳ To build the same features and services as Google and Facebook, fewer people are needed if starting now. ↳ But the irony is that it's extremely difficult to identify the crucial 20%. ↳ It's like searching for a needle in a haystack. ↳ The system works, but it's hard to find who is powering it. ↳ Even the Pareto principle supports this. ↳ The future will be different, with smaller companies leading the way. ↳ Great leaders, especially in AI, expect 10-person billion-dollar companies. ↳ Nobody knows for sure, but the way value is delivered is not going to be the same again.

I have subscribed to numerous newsletters and observed one thing: They are not punctual and some don't publish even. Why they are not communicating? There is a reason but not very plausible.
