One of the things that performers tend to do in the pursuit of their dreams is to neglect all the things that make life worth living. We get so laser-focused on our goals that the cycle of class–audition–performing becomes all-consuming, and we lose sight of the people, places, and hobbies that we once pursued just for the fun of it. I know because I've been there. It's a startling realisation to discover that you have built your entire sense of worth and self-esteem on something as fickle as a west end contract. This is the reason I encourage my clients to re-introduce some of the hobbies, people, and things they used to do for fun. Having a well-rounded and balanced life is just as important for your well-being as it is for your career. After all, how can you be an effective artist when you are starved and cut off from life? How can you perform your best when you are burnt out? This is your reminder that it is possible for you to build a performing career that allows you to also enjoy your life. Only you get to decide what that looks like. What is one thing you will do this week, just for fun? P.s. This is us on a family walk over the weekend (minus myself actually because I took the pic😅)💙

When I worked a corporate job, my wife dog & daughter would always be waiting for me right here when I got HOME. I honestly liked most of my co-workers & the job was fine….. But it was NORMAL to: •Leave at 7am & get home at 6pm. •Work 5 days a week for 2 off. •Work 49 weeks a year for 3 weeks off. •Need to ask PERMISSION for a day off. •Miss my kids events & a lot of their life. •Use zero creativity every day. •Watch the clock & wish my life away. It made me quickly realize it should NOT BE NORMAL for humans to do this. I wouldn't accept that as my NORMAL. If you work a corporate job & love it & feel a sense of PURPOSE at it -- I salute you & think that's wonderful! I’ll be the first to congratulate you & say ignore the dummies that think it’s a one size fits all. But if you're in a spot like I was I BEG YOU to stop wasting another moment until you discover your passion. Then go FULL SPEED AT IT! •Spring up ready to conquer. •Build something you're proud of. •Create & stop endlessly consuming. In 2024 there's ENDLESS RESOURCES & this has never been easier. In 2024 there's ENDLESS DISTRACTIONS & this has never been harder. Life's a CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE game. Just don't get to the END & WONDER WHAT IF??!

The myth of finding your life purpose: You don't just "find" your life purpose. Like everything that's worth doing, it takes hard work, effort, and dedication. For some of us, it's easier than others. But for most of us, it's a journey. So, how do you start? 1. Identify your values 2. Find your passions 3. Align your career with both. It's that simple. But not easy. It's a process, it takes time. So, start today. Take one step, and then another, and another. You'll get there, I promise.

I would love to say that life is all good. Sure, there is good in my life, however these last few years have been difficult. How do I navigate not only a business closure, but a question of my identity and what my life plan and goals once were? Truth is I am still navigating that every day. Some days are good, but most days I live in a bit of a haze. I think of all I have experienced in life - A life where I went wide on lots of things but not quite deep enough to see lasting results. While I can appreciate those experiences, I question where I’m going. Question where my focus is, where I want it to be, how I want to feel versus how I’m feeling moment to moment. All this to say: We are all constantly figuring life out. All at various levels and stages of life, but all of us are looking to do the best we can in this life experience. To find the answers to these questions, it takes work, sure. But it also takes time, patience, acceptance, and grace. It takes knowing that there is no way to truly know anything except one thing - That it will all work out. Trust and believe in that, and all that we navigate in life we can get through knowing it is simply helping build us into the best version of ourselves.

How Do You See Life? Is life a series of challenges? A string of adventures? Or just a never-ending to-do list? For me, life is both an adventure and a challenge - something I get to participate in. It’s full of opportunities for growth, connection, and, yes, fun. Even when it’s difficult, painful, or tedious, I try to find the joy in it. Because ultimately, what you pay attention to becomes your life. Choose to see the opportunities, the humor, the beauty - even in the hard stuff. Life isn’t just what happens to you; it’s how you frame what happens to you. So, I’m curious: How do you see life? Is it a series of mountains to climb? A treasure map with adventures along the way? Or something else entirely? Drop your perspective below - I’d love to hear how you see the world.

Real and present Now is when you live your life. Now is when you get work done. Here is where you address the problems. This is the place from which you follow your dreams and achieve your objectives. These are the circumstances you must contend with. This is the situation in which you operate. You might have imagined and wished for a more ideal environment. Yet here is where you are, now is the time you have. Instead of waiting for someday, make full use of this day. Rather than wishing for a perfect scenario, figure out what to do with the real and present one you have. You’re entirely capable of moving forward from wherever you happen to be. You happen to be just where you are, so pick yourself up, focus on your purpose, and get going. Focus on reality, act on present situation, acting now is more important than reflecting past memory or planning for future.

Funny thing about life: sometimes the best things come from taking a chance on something completely different. I used to be all-in on fitness; that was my world. But now I’m here, in roofing—a place I never saw myself, but it’s become so much more than just a job. At first, it felt like a huge risk, jumping into an industry I didn’t know. But there’s a strange beauty in throwing yourself into the unfamiliar. You start seeing things differently, finding meaning in places you never thought to look. I’ve met people who are driven, who show up every day ready to build something real, and it’s inspiring in ways I didn’t expect. Now, this work feels like play. It’s like discovering a whole new side of myself, finding passion in a place I used to think was just “the next thing.” Turns out, there’s power in betting on yourself and letting the unfamiliar teach you something new. Don’t be afraid to shake things up. You may end up finding something even better on the other side. Just my thoughts, hope this helps 🧠🫡

😀 Dance between professional and personal life 😀 In the intricate dance between professional and personal life, individuals navigate contrasting landscapes, each with its unique demands and rewards. In the professional arena, one is immersed in a world of deadlines, projects, and ambitions. Here, the focus is on efficiency, expertise, and advancement, as individuals strive to make their mark and achieve success in their chosen fields. It's a realm where dedication, hard work, and determination propel one forward, often accompanied by the satisfaction of tangible accomplishments and professional growth. On the other hand, personal life is a sanctuary of relationships, leisure, and self-discovery. In this domain, the emphasis shifts from deadlines to moments, from tasks to connections. It's where one finds solace in the embrace of loved ones, joy in shared experiences, and fulfillment in pursuing passions and hobbies. Amidst the hustle and bustle of professional endeavors, personal life offers a refuge for rejuvenation, reflection, and reconnection with oneself and others. Balancing these two realms requires finesse, boundaries, and conscious effort, yet achieving harmony between them ensures not only professional success but also personal fulfillment and well-being.

The dream of “getting paid to play” sounds like luck to most. But the truth? It’s an intentional design. What looks like effortless passion is actually: • Years of honing skills behind the scenes. • Relentless belief in turning hobbies into income. • Countless failures that taught priceless lessons. Most people: See the freedom. Assume it’s "talent" or "luck." Ignore the disciplined work it takes to align passion with profession. Living a purposeful life is like mastering a craft: the visible joy comes from invisible dedication. The art of living is not an escape from the grind it’s redefining it. Stop waiting for a perfect life to find you. Start creating one where work feels like play. Your passion-fueled paycheck is built through action, not found by chance. Make it happen?

One is born with multiple talents. Finding out what one is good at and finding out what one likes doing is the first step. The latter is more important than the former. These things happen and change. Life is about finding out what one likes, choosing among them and then doing it with absorption in the journey to excellence in it. You only live once. So living it doing what you like is most important. While some money is important, money and fame ought to be and are by products of the journey to excellence. The journey is more important than any particular destination on the journey. Finding out how far one can go in ones chosen journey and enjoying the journey is the essence of life.

We often wait for the “perfect moment” for a better job, more money, less stress to start living the life we truly want. But the truth is, life doesn’t wait. The opportunities we miss by waiting are the same ones that could have transformed us. Every moment we postpone could have been a moment of growth, happiness, or fulfillment. It’s time to stop delaying: • That new project you’ve been dreaming about, start it today. • That skill you’ve always wanted to learn, make time for it now. • That conversation you’ve been avoiding, have it today. Time is our most precious resource. Don’t let it slip away while you wait for things to be perfect. Take control of your life and start living it on your own terms. 💪🏾 What’s one thing you’re going to stop postponing today? Let’s commit to living fully, now.
