This past year - I advocated to switch roles.
Don’t get me wrong I love working at American Underground and with a powerhouse team Maya Sugg, Courtney High, Tim Scales - but I needed change, new challenges, and to be reconnected back to community versus managing properties.
Here’s what that change allowed:
👉 Partnerships with Fidelity Center for Applied Technology®(FCAT), 2ndF, Google, Hutchison PLLC and Knox St. Studios to run programming for start up founders (with a few more to come).
👉 Creation of a NEW program - The FCAT Fellowship (deadline this week, see below for more info) to support more diverse tech founders.
👉 The ability to meet with alumni to redesign Black Founders Exchange (it’s coming back y’all! - Jan 2025)
👉 Space to personally start investing in relationship with ecosystems partners and individuals, that make the Triangle startup community what it is today.
🔆On personal note - the ability to invest in personal interests like birth and postpartum doula care, gardening, and momming 24/7. Did I mention we just had another little human?! 👩🏻🍼👏
All that to say - change can be a good thing. It’s okay to say the thing you need and to advocate for change. Who knows what might happen if you take the leap!
Don't miss the application deadline for the FCAT Fellowship at the AU, powered by the Fidelity Center for Applied Technology®(FCAT)!
Applications are due September 5 at https://lnkd.in/e8cmUQxx
