🎄Last night was one for the books—a perfect blend of laughter, great food, and even better company. A massive thank you to our The Dental Team Group for putting together such a memorable evening! As the year comes to a close, moments like these remind us why we do what we do. The hustle, the long hours, and the dedication are all worth it when you’re part of a team as special as ours. This dinner wasn’t just about celebrating the season; it was about celebrating US—our hard work, our wins, and even those little mishaps that became running jokes throughout the year (you know the ones, but we’ll leave those at the table!). These moments of connection go beyond the day-to-day grind. They’re about building friendships, sharing stories, and creating the kind of inside jokes you couldn’t explain even if you tried (trust me, we tried). To the entire team: Thank you for making this year amazing. Your dedication, teamwork, and positivity are what keep this engine running. Let’s carry this energy into the new year—stronger, closer, and as always, having a blast along the way. Here’s to wrapping up 2024 on a high note and gearing up for an even brighter 2025! Start up topic of discussion was a hoot! Main purpose was to help the team to understand that we all have different perspectives on things. This allowed a healthy conversation before they took off to see how different techniques in operating the different trucks we have can either improve or hinder operational efficiency. TLDR: No LLMs were used in the typing of this message, but have a great 2025 all! 🤓 The other day I was ‘daydreaming’ (actually just thinking) and I missed my usual bus stop. What normally would be a moment of frustration with thoughts of lost productivity time turned into an enjoyable walk, more actual thinking time, and coffee from a new place. I strolled into my office more energized (it was a large coffee) and very focused. For 2025, I hope we all can: 1) Organize Thoughts, Prioritize Effectively: Take time to pause, reflect and make better decisions professionally and personally. This make require us to spend time scaling back before scaling up. 2) Connect Tasks to Strategic Outcomes: See beyond a checklist and internalize how and why this is relevant and what value this brings. This could be a new tool, maximizing an existing one, etc. 3) Learn the Art and Science of Feedback: Balance this from a giving and receiving perspective. There are so many elements that are hard to see, feel and fundamentally accept. It is not enough to step into one’s shoes, but many different ones, from sizes to brands. Can a squirrel make you think? Every morning a little fellow appears on my windowsill, in anticipation of the day's menu. Our first acquaintance, many moons ago, was thanks to "Thattai", a regional snack, kept for a few hungry crows. I didn't know then, but it was love at first sight for Mr. Bushy Tail. After that came the Shrewsbury biscuit phase. The crows were no longer fans, and so the squirrel monopolised. A few days later, he embraced his peanut-loving nature; so much so he brought a friend now and then to share in the joy. "Ki, ki, ki, ki..", I'd hear them swap notes. Sometimes our protagonist alone stayed a good few hours upto lunch to have traditional "paruppu sadham", complete with salt and ghee. If he was curious and hungry still, he'd jump in and survey the hall. Many months have passed since our first encounter, and now he's all about millets. Just yesterday, I caught him trying to hack his way into the bird feeder. My little squirrel has me thinking every day on how better I can train my students: What is their "thattai" to come back for more? What is their "peanut" to inspire collaboration? What're the "millets" to drive them into competition mode? What do you learn from nature around you? #nature #learner
