On April 23, 2024, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) introduced their new Environmental Justice Clearinghouse. The Clearinghouse was mandated by Executive Order 14906 'Revitalizing Our Nation’s Commitment to Environmental Justice for All', which President Biden signed on April 21, 2023. The Clearinghouse currently contains links to over 230 documents, with more being added as they become available. There is also a public-access submission form for recommendations of additions to the Clearinghouse. Per the #EPA, the Clearinghouse contains the following: 📌 Information describing the activities of the members of the White House Environmental Justice Interagency Council to address issues relating to environmental justice. 📌 Information on technical assistance, tools, and resources to assist communities with environmental justice concerns in building capacity for public participation. 📌 Copies of training materials developed by the White House Environmental Justice Inter-agency Council or its members to help individuals and employees understand and carry out environmental justice activities. 📌 Any other information deemed appropriate by the EPA Administrator, in coordination with the White House Environmental Justice Inter-agency Council. The goal of the Clearinghouse is to make EJ information easy to obtain in one location. The documents are able to be filtered by the following categories: ▪︎ Access Subject Matter Expertise ▪︎ Applying for Assistance ▪︎ Available Funding ▪︎ Develop Organizational Capacity ▪︎ Justice40 ▪︎ Public Participation ▪︎ Publications ▪︎ Screening and Mapping Tools ▪︎ What Is EJ? The #EJClearinghouse should be an invaluable tool for those working in the EJ space!
