It's National Apprenticeship Week, and as a leading voice for more job opportunities for America’s workers, ASA is proud to join in the celebration. Apprenticeships play a critical role in future-proofing careers in our country, and, throughout the labor market, staffing agencies are partnering with companies to create apprenticeship programs for the workers of today and tomorrow. Apprenticeships not only offer people the benefit of earning a wage while learning new skills or vocations, they are going to become an essential element of recruiting, retention, and employee development programs in the future. Our industry has a unique opportunity to assist both employers and workers as we navigate through and play a role in the transformation of the world of work. Developing talent through upskilling and reskilling while continuing to help organizations enhance efficiency and productivity will be increasingly important roles for our industry to play in the future. We are honored to represent an industry that does so much good for so many people – enabling employment and careers, and changing lives. Read more at https://bit.ly/3V1a3XV

A busy breakfast meeting today with lots of interesting conversations about how to recruit and develop talent in your business - focusing on apprenticeships, being National Apprenticeship Week. Thanks to the panel Martin Reeves from Wiltshire College & University Centre, Sam Gooding and Joshua Thursby from Gooding Accounts Ltd for sharing their insights from the perspective of a learning provider, employer and apprentice. 💡 Did you know that apprentices can work for different employers at different times through the Shared Apprenticeship Scheme? A great way to widen participation in apprenticeships, especially smaller businesses who may not be able to commit to a full-time position for the duration of the apprenticeship. (That's something new I learned today) 💡 Did you also know that apprentices need a special type of employment contract which covers the usual requirements plus additional content under the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children & Learning Act? (that's something I do know a lot about!) To find out more about hiring apprentices, read our step-by-step guide: https://lnkd.in/gfK33XwE Thank you to The Business Exchange South West and Cumberwell Park for hosting a great event. #NAW2024 #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #Recruitment #HRConsultancy

I hear a lot of mixed views on hiring apprentices but I will always be a fan of this route after being an apprentice myself. You can make a huge difference to someone’s life by offering them an apprenticeship, if you have the time and are willing to invest in them you will reap the rewards! #nationalapprenticeshipweek

Not all businesses are equal or qualify to be employer sponsors. Apprenticeship expansion teams cannot possibly reach 99% of businesses that are not currently employer sponsors. The best approach is to have the teams target 1% of the non-participating businesses by size and geography in the priority industry that shows low risk and signs of growth and is willing to hire adults 16-24. Workforce boards that leverage a data-driven approach to accelerate targeted employer outreach can quickly find the most qualified employer sponsors and ensure the likelihood of a more successful apprenticeship. EconoVue has identified key attributes of the most qualified employer sponsors. https://lnkd.in/ezHvKcBM #YAW2024 #ApprenticeshipUSA!

Work smarter, not harder. Have your teams strategically target employer sponsors by size, geography, priority industry, and health of the company. That's how we can expand apprenticeship opportunities. https://lnkd.in/ezHvKcBM #YAW2024 #ApprenticeshipUSA
