This upcoming post is on Phase noise. Phase noise expressions for PLLs, the Wiener-Khintchine theorem, in the second part I delve into Phase noise metrology a lot of which is due to companies like R & S , Keysight. The primary paper to study on Phase noise in digital systems is due to Prof. Enrico Rubiola some 23 years back and it remains a must for PhD students. I go through in great detail about using the Wiener Khintchine theorem as a basis to compute Phase noise in a PLL with 4 potential noise sources.

It is our pleasure to invite you to the next series of IFAC/IEEE webinar on Nonlinear Control Systems, which will be given by Prof. Hyungbo Shim from Seoul National University, Korea, on Monday, February 26, 2024, 5PM Korea time / 9AM Central Europe Time / 12AM Pacific Time. The zoom and youtube link is available at https://lnkd.in/eesn9n-w Title: Coordination of heterogeneous multi-agent systems via blended dynamics theorem Abstract: When a diverse set of dynamics are compelled to synchronize under a coupling condition, they display emergent behavior characterized by blended dynamics. This phenomenon is crucial in designing heterogeneous multi-agent systems, where each agent collaborates towards a unified goal. Such multi-agent systems or algorithms benefit from stability exchange among agents, an initialization-free nature allowing seamless integration or disengagement of agents, and resilience to production flaws and disturbances in node dynamics. Additionally, for each agent to undertake distinct tasks while aligning with others for a collective objective, certain internal variables of each agent must reach consensus, and the agreed-upon value should reflect some information about individual agents. We substantiate this by demonstrating that the internal variable acts as the Lyapunov function for decentralized control and as the Lagrange multiplier in the distributed optimization of resource allocation problems. Organizers: Hiroshi Ito (chair of IFAC TC 2.3 Non-linear Control Systems), Andrea Serrani (chair of IEEE TC Nonlinear Systems and Control), Claudia Califano (vice-chair education of IFAC TC 2.3), Bayu Jayawardhana (vice-chair publication of IFAC TC 2.3)

I The University of Waterloo has officially opened its state-of-the-art Inert Atmosphere Fabrication Lab (IAFL) as part of the Quantum-Nano Fabrication and Characterization Facility (QNFCF). Many materials used in quantum-nano fabrication can easily react with oxygen, so they must be assembled in a special, oxygen-free environment. This lab was carefully designed and built by the QNFCF team, with help from Angstrom Engineering and JEOL USA, to support the quantum research community at the University of Waterloo and beyond. https://lnkd.in/daaVVQVp Transition-metal dichalcogenides have drawn attention as possible frameworks for a wide range of applications. Recently, the introduction and rise to prominence of Janus monolayers and vertical heterostructures have allowed further tuning of the properties of these systems. To comprehensively explore these aspects, including excitonic and optoelectronic characterization, we present a theoretical study of the MX2/MX2, MXY/MX2, MX2 /MXY and MXY/MXY bilayer systems, where M = Mo, W; X = S, Se; Y = S, Se.

📢 CSD&M PARIS 2024 - SPEAKER Levent Yilmaz, professor at Auburn University will present: "Dual-Interaction Adversarial Experiment Model for Robustness Analysis of Complex Systems". Simulation experiments often explore the behavioral space of a system by sampling designs and scenarios under a predefined experiment design. Such experiments provide useful information about the interactions among system parameters while ignoring emergent and evolving results that can be used to re-frame the experiment dynamically. This paper explores the concept of an adversarial self-organizing experiment strategy to enable dynamic updating of both the design and the scenario space as simulation experiments unfold. The co-evolutionary process and its underlying dual-interaction activation dynamics between the system design and scenario spaces demonstrate the potential for revealing robust designs and scenarios that effectively stress such designs.
