Want stronger fingers for rock climbing? A new study shows a surprising way to boost your grip strength. Researchers teamed up with a pro rock-climber to test two different training methods: low-intensity, long-duration holds and high-intensity, short-duration exercises. While you might expect the heavy lifting to be the clear winner, the results were unexpected. Both methods led to similar strength gains. The real kicker? Combining both approaches produced even greater improvements. This suggests that how well your muscles can transfer force is a key factor in building strength.
