Data was collected using a questionnaire-based survey and simple random sampling. 📝 Key Findings: Distance education imposes a heavy workload on faculty for adequate preparation. Technical issues such as interruptions and disconnections are frequent. The system struggles with interactivity and maintaining student engagement. There is a lack of control over student examinations. Distance education is less effective, particularly in subjects requiring hands-on practice. 🎯 Originality: This research captures the perspectives of instructors during and after the Covid-19 pandemic, making it one of the first studies to examine academic opinions on distance education, offering valuable suggestions for educational professionals. 🔗 Read the full study for an in-depth understanding of the challenges and future directions of distance education in higher education, especially in tourism. https://lnkd.in/dkijhhwj #DistanceEducation #HigherEd #TourismEducation #AcademicResearch #OnlineLearning #Covid19Impact #EducationInnovation #TurkeyResearch #academicperspectives Ibrahim Cetin, Akdeniz University onur icoz, ADÜ Turizm Fakültesi Orhan İçöz, Yaşar Üniversitesi (Yaşar University)

🇸🇬 #NUS Access Restrictions During Golden Week The National University of Singapore (NUS) has announced a temporary restriction on access to University Town (UTown) food courts and shuttle bus services from September 30 to October 7, coinciding with China's Golden Week holiday. This decision reflects a strategic approach to manage the influx of tourists during this peak travel period. 1️⃣ Controlled Access: Only NUS students, staff, and authorized visitors will be allowed access, requiring NUS-approved passes. The Central Library will also be closed during this time for visitors. 2️⃣ Starting in August, NUS will implement a tour bus registration system and visitor access control. This proactive measure will help mitigate potential overcrowding and maintain a conducive environment for academic activities. 3️⃣ Unlicensed tour guides will be reported, reinforcing NUS's commitment to maintaining a safe and professional tourism environment. Overall, these measures indicate a growing recognition of the importance of managing tourist interactions within educational institutions. As NUS navigates this complex landscape, its strategies could serve as a model for other universities facing similar challenges. Within 3 weeks, IPCA and NHLStenden universities' staff and students designed experiences for Inclusive Tourism in Outdoor Events in Barcelos, Portugal. An inspiring week and meeting very extraordinary people and creating magical moments. Out of 51 interested students, 12 were chosen of the RUN-EU program for universities. But there were not only Portuguese, Irish or Dutch tourism students, the group consisted also of students of different programs of Italy, France, Ecuador, United States, Brazil, Belgium, Poland. According to a participant: “We learned so much more than at school in taking part in design based activities, excursions and lectures. Above all, being together and talk to each other open and honest of how we live and learn”. The program focused on solving practical issues to develop inclusive tourism in the outdoors of the northern part of Portugal. It showed that within this subject, emotional intelligence is most important. “We should not compare, we should not reject but learn to accept the concept of difference” (Lucia Joaquinq Vaz Ribeiro). The picture is taken in Barcelos in an office taking care of people walking the Santiago the Compostella route. Walking this route often helps people with mental problems, anxiety and depression. #IPCA #ITM #Inclusive #Barcelos #Disability
