2024 & still Climbing 📈 Since 2008 we have excelled in increasing golf outings, memberships & rounds per year. As a semi-private profitable club these are 3 key ingredients. In this post I am just talking vaguely about golf outings & membership, but ultimately hope to get others to engage in this industry on this topic. As a GM, Pro, or event coordinator- What are the tools that you find to help your club grow. Times are changing, outings are looking for more attractive sponsorship activation opportunities, more fun, and a smooth process. Our job is to make this process as smooth as possible. We need to stay innovative to accomplish these things. I.e investing into the club itself, educating ourselves on what is out there in the market and staying open-minded. These thought processes correlate with membership as well. Are you building a community/brand with your club? How well are we doing with connecting our staff with our members/clients? I see many gaps in this field when I visit other clubs, talk to other pros, or even when I book a new golf outing from a different club. If these are gaps you are expierancing reach out to me.

Even though I organize a business golf event annually, I haven't swung a golf club in 15 years easily. Yet one of my referral team clients invited me to be on his foursome at the Fenton & Linden Regional Chamber of Commerce and I said YES to the opportunity! And boy am I glad I did! I had a great time! Spent the day deepening my professional relationships with these three men, Jason Moore, Jerry Ellithorpe and Nathan Murray (for some reason I can't tag two of them) lots of laughs, encouragement, learning more about each other both professionally and personally. This foursome made up of 'I'm not very good', I just started golfing' and I don't golf' people came in just three over par. This experience just reinforced what I share with other professionals when they say they don't golf....what does golf have to do with a golf outing or event? It's a team event, everyone playing together, working together for a team score. And again, it's fun!! So you don't golf, so what! Go! Have fun! Connect and grow your business. Just say yes to the opportunity! No one cares that you can't/don't golf but you. Don't skip the chances for something unimportant. Connect Intentionally. #golfouting #network #networking #connection #connectintentionally #golfevent

My method for organising a youth football tour in less than a week: (Steal this without fear and tell me about it). Define the clear objective of the tour: focus on competition, training, culture? Use of predefined templates for logistics. Accommodation, transport, food. Direct contact with key partners. Camps, hotels, and local services with which I have previous agreements. Plan B always ready. Alternatives for any unforeseen event already pre-established. Saving time does not mean lowering quality. It means being efficient and prepared. With these steps, not only do I save time, but I ensure a memorable experience for everyone. What do you think, do you dare to try it?

Golf Events are EXPENSIVE! Hosting golf events, whether Corporate, Charity, or TOUR, entails substantial costs, often ranging from hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars. PGA TOUR events require significant budgets covering venue rental, prize money, logistics, hospitality, staffing, and more. Precise planning is essential to allocate resources effectively, especially for enhancing fan and player experience. Sponsorships play a crucial role in offsetting expenses. Every penny counts and with the ongoing battle between LIV Golf and the PGA TOUR, The Deep Clean Club continues to look at ways to grow the game yet, also help the sustainability of the TOURs. Moving forward, The Deep Clean Club will offer our VIP Player Services as a sponsorship opportunity, no different than sponsoring tee deck signage or driving range dividers - companies will have the option to showcase their brand on a one-of-a-kind experience that draws in hundreds of eyes to a service that doesn't go unnoticed like a stagnant sign. By embracing this approach, events can not only fully cover the costs of VIP Player Services to enhance their event, but also potentially generate several thousand dollars in additional sponsorship revenue, contributing to the long-term sustainability of their tournament. #growthegame #pgatour #sponsorship #golfevents

Point of order; Mr. Chairman. As the domestic golf season comes to its traditional end with only the “winter league” on the calendar, facilitating the golfing fundamentalists who demand their golfing fix every week of the year, club committees must circle the wagons and prepare for their respective Annual General Meetings. In all my years involved in the industry, I’m at a loss as to the nervousness of an outgoing committee and even more so to the unbridled anticipation some members experience in the lead up to the review of their golfing year. When all is said and done, we should count our blessings that our course isn’t situated in southeast Lebanon or the Ukraine. Members who allow their name to go forward for committee must be applauded and those who accept the task of heading a particular sub-committee must at least be given the benefit of the doubt as to their motives for taking on this voluntary work when almost everybody nowadays live in a time sensitive environment. To the naked eye there is no financial gain in committing to attending monthly meetings and accepting responsibility for a particular aspect of the club constitution. Also, one is always conscious of the fact that there is a substantial number of your fellow members looking on from the cheap seats awaiting your first slip up or even worse still, ignoring your every move and never once contemplating to offer an hour of their time or even communicate a supportive text during the year. The night itself always promises to be as dramatic as a Shakespearian play however those of us who have attended more than our fair share can always depend on the anticlimactic ending when nobody from the floor has anything constructive to add under A.O.B. For the best results in my opinion, members who have specific concerns should advise the top table a day or two prior to the meeting. This will allow both parties to get to the kernel of the issue and hopefully move on together into the new year singing off the same hymn sheet. Speeches should be kept to a minimum and those attending must realise that if they have a number of issues to raise perhaps concentrate on the main one and open correspondence with the new committee after the meeting. The expectations of the membership are almost universal in all amateur sports clubs and golf clubs are no different. There is a presumption that the annual accounts won’t show travel costs and accommodation expenses for the committee and their spouses following a fact-finding tour to the Masters, that the level of competition, team selection and prize presentations reach a standard that befits the traditions of the club and that the few errors that were made during the year won’t be repeated by the incoming committee. Tempers should never be lost, and the Chairman should always be afforded courtesy especially when dealing with points of order.
