One of the biggest challenges we currently face in the Palestinian job market, particularly in the non-profit humanitarian sector and NGOs, is the difficulty in attracting skilled candidates for the many available positions. Due to the recent aggression on Gaza, the number of vacant positions has significantly increased. However, despite multiple job postings, we often struggle to find suitable candidates. Even when we are fortunate enough to find a qualified employee, they often resign shortly after due to receiving a better job offer from another international organization. #JobMarket #Gaza #Vacancies #HumanitarianOrganizations #NGOs #TalentAcquisition #RecruitmentInGaza #NonProfitSector #HRManagement #HRInDisasters #HRInConflictZones #HRDiaries"

To recruiters and companies hiring You are going to see many LinkedIn profiles filled with watermelons🍉, Palestinian flags 🇵🇸 and hard-to-watch images and videos. And your first reflex will be “Nope, Next!” Let me tell you why it would be your loss. A person that posts on their LinkedIn about Palestine has integrity. They’re willing to risk their careers for what’s right. But it also means that their work and attitude will be filled with integrity. They’re not motivated by money alone, or their personal interests. They will do their best even in hard situations. They have empathy. They are not selfish, they sacrifice for others, you can expect them to be great team players. They will promote inclusivity in your workplace and will make your teams stronger. They’ll keep you accountable. For your own good. If they see something wrong, they won’t ignore it to please you. They will let you know and will be a key element of your progress. And contrary to what the media wants you to think, they aren’t violent, they aren’t dangerous, they don’t have hate towards others. They are just trying their best with their limited resources to wake the world up because they can’t bare to see the ongoing slaughtering of the people in Gaza. They are not expressing political views, they’re expressing humanity. There are some things you can’t find on a resume, but you can read between the lines to find the best people you recruited yet. And if you’re hesitant, meet them first. Don’t judge a book by its cover.

🌍 **Attention Talent Acquisition Leaders, Recruiters, HR Partners, and Business Leaders** 🌍 Sister Amal LOZI BOUCHIBTI has articulated thoughts that resonate deeply within me and many others and have addressed We all understand the importance of culture fit in addition to the standard psychometric assessments that measure numerical and verbal reasoning alongside competency. As organizations, we often espouse vision, mission, core values, but it raises an important question: **What caliber of individuals are you bringing into your organization? Integrity, honesty, a clean record, solid performance history, and a spirit of collaboration should be non-negotiables. Yet, this brings us to a dilemma. When we advocate for human rights—whether it's against apartheid, xenophobia, or in solidarity with movements like Black Lives Matter—do we consider how our internal culture and policies align with these values? Our commitment to social issues emerges in various forms, including CSR initiatives. However, why is there silence when it comes to crises like the ongoing apartheid in Palestine, genocides, in Sudan or Yemen? Could it be that the moral compass we profess does not direct our brand as strongly as we would like to believe? Having zero tolerance for discrimination is commendable. Yet, if HR & leadership falter in showing compassion for employees' voices advocating for humanity, we risk eroding trust & creating a culture of hypocrisy. Investing in companies profiting from violence contradicts the very values you promote. It is time to reassess your approach. - **Re-evaluate your culture:** If your decision-making is sidelining compassionate employees, it may be time to reinstate those dismissed for speaking up. Show genuine remorse for past actions aligning with oppressive practices. - **Embrace empathetic leadership:** Clients today seek to invest in organizations aligned with their values. If your talent pool is uninspired, your performance will suffer. Organizations rooted in robust ethical practices will attract conscientious consumers and talent. - **Understand your brand's impact:** Ignoring contributions to grave humanitarian crises can lead to a tarnished reputation—both internally and externally. If your employees are passionate advocates for social justice, isn't it time to listen to them? Being authentically aligned with your stated values can lead to improved employee morale, better performance, and ultimately, a stronger brand. Let's strive for a corporate culture that not only champions equitable practices but also recognizes and rewards the humanity in all of us. Let's consider the people we hire—not just for their qualifications but for their integrity and alignment with our collective values. After all, these are the individuals who foster trust and drive success in a compassionate and equitable world. #TalentAcquisition #HR #CorporateCulture #Values #SocialJustice #EmpathyInLeadership #Integrity #

I posted this previously but it mysteriously disappeared from my posts! Share to bring awareness to the human trafficking crisis! To all of the people who found themselves unemployed due to this company, it is NOT your fault! If you were fired, laid off or your contract wasn’t honored without any explanation, this is the reason why! They are under a huge investigation and they don’t want anyone to know. It’s very sad when you’re an organization that is supposed to prevent human trafficking yet you’re engaging in the very thing you’re supposed to be preventing! They continue to post jobs, interviewing & giving out job offers as if they are actually hiring. Then they put off your orientation for weeks & months, once you start questioning them they rescind your offer. Steer clear of this place if you’re looking to work in refugee resettlement & anti human trafficking. More links & details in comments.
