We all have our gripes about our home towns. Traffic, safety issues, unsavoury people, poor transit, overspending, poor choices, and so on. There's been a lot of moaning going on... I might have been known to issue a pleasantly phrased complaint myself from time to time. 😉 But one time, after hearing too much moaning from my friends, I snapped and asked what they were going to DO about it. "Don't moan to me if that's all you're prepared to do. Take the next step." I then vowed to do the same: stop moaning if I'm not prepared to do something to actually participate somehow toward making a change. Admittedly I'm not perfect at following my own advice... but I continue to give it. Well, I guess my "stop moaning" retort has landed, because THIS GUY HAS VOWED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Iain Montgomery calls Toronto home. And while he loves his city, it pains him to see it not rising to be what it could be. It sets the bar at "good enough", and repeats the long-established routines 'cause "no one ever got fired for doing what we've been doing for the last 60 years". That approach doesn't even allow the city to keep up with all the things falling apart around it. So he's taken the message to heart. He's stepping up to try to rally a movement to encourage our leaders to take on risks, make bold decisions, and implement changes that make his city a better place to live for the long term. THIS is the type of person you should be supporting in your hometown. Please join in the discussions with Challenger City TO.
