It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of growth, but I’ve learned that staying true to our mission is what keeps us on track. When I started Cena, the focus was simple- make psychedelic-assisted therapy accessible to those who need it most. That hasn’t changed, even as we’ve expanded. There’s a lot happening in this industry. It’s tempting to chase new opportunities. But every decision we make comes back to that core purpose and ensuring that our work remains safe, effective, and accessible. I’ve realized that keeping the mission front and centre helps us navigate the complexities of this field as a team. We must be intentional and stay connected to why we do what we do. It's tough to not chase new ideas but when you hold onto why you do this, you keep moving forward with a clear sense of direction, no matter how much the landscape shifts. #focus

Viva la difference! Far too often I see in the media (and hear it and read it...) - how THIS group is "too" that, and THAT person "too" this. Compared to what? Are your intake forms making it harder on your clients? Many potential clients get overwhelmed or frustrated with the amount of paperwork they need to complete before their first appointment. When it comes to your intake process, reduce as much friction as possible so that potential clients can easily engage with your practice and get started with therapy. One tip: Simplify your forms by asking only essential questions upfront. Look at every question and ask, 'Do I have to know this question before I meet with the client? 2024 was a pivotal year for me personally but the groundwork for change started in 2021. It started by hiring a coach James “Big Red” Wetrich. Thank you Jim, you will forever be apart of my pivot and story. Thank you Laura Ward Moran, founder of Unparalleled Pursuits for the impromptu 10 min interview. (Below) I always regretted what I preceived as my athletic ability at a certain level yet my athletic resume didn’t match. And worse yet there is a small time window for that to occur. Good news is, take two (as long as you have breath and a dream) you have the shot of entrepreneurial success. Going for it “business” and starting from scratch has allowed me to forgive myself for falling short so many times. After all life is a GAME. Not a game from the perspective of wins and losses but did you leave it all on the field! By no means have I “arrived”. Starting a business has only taught me how much I don’t know. And can’t wait to learn and grow more!! Who would think so much uncertainty and unknowns would lead to so much freedom, perhaps it’s the only way it should be.
