In contemporary society, the deconstruction of Western narrative reveals itself as fertile ground for exploring complex themes related to identity, perception of reality, and the crisis of traditional storytelling. This questioning invites us to consider how traditional stories and narratives, once fundamental pillars of our understanding of the world and our cultural identity, are progressively losing their significance and influence. Contemporary society, with its reliance on new digital media and constant exposure to a multitude of information, is characterized by a crisis of narrative that has profound implications for our perception of reality and our identity construction. This crisis is particularly evident in Western narratives, which are being challenged by emerging alternatives. The realization that our reality is not singular and fixed, and that identity is fluid, undermines the pillars of our cultural systems. A significant example of this transformation is the work of Little Simz, who is contributing to creating a new narrative. Through her music, stories, and visual art, Little Simz speaks of decolonization, challenging European/Western power and narrative. Her work confronts traditional narratives and offers a fresh, critical perspective on contemporary reality, highlighting the experiences and voices often marginalized. Moreover, Little Simz's videos are a striking blend of narrative and fashion, using style as a powerful tool to enhance her message. The fashion in her videos is not just aesthetic but a form of expression and resistance, adding layers of meaning to her decolonizing efforts. By integrating fashion into her storytelling, she redefines cultural identity and proposes new ways of understanding the world. This crisis is not just a challenge but also an opportunity to reconsider and reinvent how we understand and narrate our experiences. Through a critical exploration of the relationship between narrative, identity, and cultural expression, we can hope to find new ways of understanding and constructing meaning in contemporary society. This context aims to explore the theme of narrative deconstruction and transformation in light of the crisis of Western storytelling and its implications for our understanding of the world and ourselves. The contribution of artists like Little Simz is fundamental in this process of redefinition, as they invite us to question dominant power structures and consider alternative narratives that reflect a more inclusive and diverse reality.

This the first of our video series to demonstrate how translators become the bridge between two different cultures, and we're using Jay Chou's iconic Chinese song "Blue and White Porcelain" as an example. Treating this like a translation project, we extracted and translated the key terminology in the lyrics and present them with images, so we make sure everyone regardless of background can understand and get a glimpse of Chinese eloquence. You'll enjoy this exploratory visual journey of music and lyrics as well as appreciate the effort of bridging the gap between cultures! ### Executive Summary: "Resonance of the Soul: The Legacy of Te Kapa Haka o Waerenga" "Resonance of the Soul: The Legacy of Te Kapa Haka o Waerenga" is an immersive poem that encapsulates the profound cultural essence and dynamic energy of the traditional Māori performing arts as showcased in the regional Kapa Haka competitions of Te Taitokerau. Spanning over twenty-five stanzas, the poem delves into the intricate relationship between the internal motivations and the external expressions of performers, highlighting the ergonomic resonance that emanates from within to influence and shape their performance. At its core, the poem explores the symbiotic relationship between the performers and their cultural heritage, illustrating how the physical exertion and expressive movements of Kapa Haka are deeply intertwined with the spiritual and emotional resonance of Māori traditions. The poem vividly describes the performers' actions, from the thunderous foot stomps to the delicate sway of the poi, as not merely physical acts but as profound expressions of identity, history, and connection to the ancestors. The narrative emphasizes the concept of giving and receiving, portraying each performance as an act of offering to both the ancestors and the audience, and in return, receiving energy, approval, and spiritual guidance. This cyclical exchange is depicted as the heart of the Kapa Haka experience, reinforcing the communal and intergenerational bonds that define Māori culture. "Resonance of the Soul" also examines the role of sound pitch syntax in Kapa Haka, illustrating how variations in tone, volume, and rhythm serve as a complex language of emotion and storytelling. This auditory element is presented as a bridge between the internal and external worlds, a means through which performers communicate their narratives, emotions, and cultural values. In conclusion, the poem is a celebration of the enduring spirit and cultural vibrancy of Te Kapa Haka o Waerenga. It pays tribute to the performers' dedication, skill, and deep emotional investment in preserving and promoting their heritage through the art of Kapa Haka. "Resonance of the Soul" serves not only as a poetic homage to this cherished tradition but also as a reminder of the powerful role that cultural practices play in fostering community, continuity, and identity among the Māori people of Te Taitokerau.

Daedalus and Icarus in communication and an amazing painting by Domenico Piola. A very important parameter of communication is being moderate. Ancient Greeks used to enhance this idea with the «Μέτρον Άριστον» (it’s all about moderation) Everything we do must be moderated to be effective, there is always a fine line that separates publicity from overexposure and leading corporate messaging from overpromise. The flight of Icarus whose wings melted by the sun is a story about moderation. When communicating you need to find balance, communicating low may lead to a fall, communicating higher your wings will be melted. #communications #philosophy #storytelling #moderation
