Happy Friday to all my #controls and #automation programmers. Some more #controlshumor for you. Who is willing to share their 'hypothetical' experience with updated program requests to address issues that were related to - mechanical - electrical - instrumentation - safety interlocks If the program was developed based on a Control Narrative and Cause and Effect that was subject to hundreds of hours of process and safety reviews originally, there is a reason it operates the way it does. If something changes in the production thousands of successful hours later, it likely wasn't a programming issue that needs fixed. And if it a control change, why would you update code on the fly without several hours of process, mechanical, and safety reviews?
