It is always the most exciting time of the year for us at CV VC and CV Labs when we can welcome new startups into another #accelerator program. This week we started batch_07 with our "Boot Camp" week. 9 new exciting projects from 8 different countries to work with and support both financially and strategically during the 10-week program and then over the years ahead as our portfolio companies. Check out the projects through the link within: https://lnkd.in/dUAmh78P This batch has a few underlying themes: Web3 infra optimisation and applications, Zero-Knowledge, and applications for an efficient digital asset ecosystem. Some takeaways from the application, review and investments process: 1) Early-stage founders in Web3 have more choice today in terms of funding than a few years prior 2) Funding is clearly available for the most exciting early stage projects (including competition between leading incubators & accelerators) 3) International projects still highly interested in joining our program also due to the strength and connectivity of the Swiss ecosystem If you want to meet the startups, join us for cvsummit.ch in Zug next week or keep your eye out for Demo Day in early December.

Since the end of February 2024, I have been working alongside my comrades in entrepreneurship, Chinat Yu and Curtis Mai, to establish the YU CHALLENGE as the CMO of Academic Labs | 🎓 🤖 ⛓ and a student of Dr. waishun lo. Our shared passion as university students has been the driving force behind this endeavor. The YU Challenge is all about discovering the "Why You" – identifying the brave, intelligent, and passionate young individuals who have the ideas and drive to change the world. Inspired by Chinat Yu, the founder of Quest2Learn and a passionate geek with 20+ hackathon wins, we recognized that many great ideas from hackathons are not sufficiently developed and are often forgotten once the results are announced. In just 30 days, we built social media accounts, found partnerships, and recruited mentors and participants from scratch. Our efforts paid off, with 80+ signups, 10+ expert mentors, and 8 outstanding entrepreneurship ideas with complete demos and Minimum Viable Products. We successfully held workshops on problem research, brainstorming, AI, blockchain, MVP development, and pitching. However, this is just the beginning. The YU Challenge is the first step in the YU Program, where we aim to accelerate startups, offer support, and become the top startup academy within the next decade. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported YU CHALLENGE in this grand opening—the participants who worked tirelessly for three days, the mentors who offered invaluable insights, the prestigious sponsors who provided financial support, and the founding members who contributed to the success of this challenge and the kickstart of YU Challenge's mission. #AI #WEB3 #Hackathon

TON Accelerator Program Since its inception in early 2023, the TON Accelerator Program has been at the forefront of empowering entrepreneurs to seamlessly integrate into the TON-based Web3 ecosystem in Telegram. Its mission is to provide a frictionless path for Web3 builders, enabling them to develop TON-based products that reach Telegram's 800 million monthly active users. To date, three successful acceleration cohorts have supported a total of 20 innovative projects. This includes a notable collaboration with Future3 Campus, powered by Wanxiang Blockchain Labs and HashKey Capital. The upcoming cohort, scheduled to begin in late February, will be conducted online.  What an exhilarating experience it was to immerse myself in the vibrant Web3 community at the WOWSummit in #Bangkok!" Here are some insights that I shared with the participants of the Startup Pitch Competition. 1. **Elevator Pitch Rule**: "Surprisingly, three minutes is enough to convey your solution effectively. You often only have a minute." 2. **Language Consistency**: "Employ simple and consistent language. 3. **Information Digestibility**: "For complex project offering, start small—make your ideas digestible before unveiling the full picture." 4. **Targeting Web2 Users**: "If you aim to attract a Web2 audience to Web3, remember—they aren't on Telegram or Discord." 5. **Human Psychology**: "Basic human behavior and psychology still apply in the Web3 realm. Back in college days, I decided not to sit for campus placement because I could never relate to the job description and the roles/responsibilities, instead decided to join Stanford entrepreneurship bootcamp conducted by Prof. Sharique Hasan (then, associate prof at Stanford University), thanks to Sanjay Goel for recommending me this program! Since then, have been building ventures/passion projects, some succeeded, most failed but the joy, learnings in building ground up ventures is phenomenal, here are some of the biz, I tried : 1. Online yellow pages for startups (2013) aka justdial for startups 2. Bulk food delivery for distribution & corporates (2015) 3. Amazon for schools discovery (2016) 4. Blockchain product & service studio (2018) 5. Patreon for creators in Tier 2 & 3 (2019) 6. Lambda school for emerging tech - ISA based (2020) 7. Crypto social investing platform (Public dot com but for cryptos) - 2022 8. + some other experiments People might call/tag me failed entrepreneur after reading about all these not successful ventures, but let me tell you the joy, thrill in building things ground up is surreal, it is the truest form of meditation and ultimately you discover state of nirvana and become a 'man' from a boy!
