Curtiss-Wright Actuation Division’s Post

#Doyouknow if premature wear occurs when an actuator is repeatedly used in one spot? In the case of an actuator that is run in a single spot, you are effectively using a singular process. When you are running a #pressing application, you are going to end up hitting the same spot multiple times, so in turn your theoretical life calculation tends to be less the number of inches you can travel, and more the number of times you can cycle to that same point repeatedly. That again plays a role in the life of the actuator. We typically do have some derating factors that we use to provide our customers with proper product life expectancy in pressing or very short stroke type applications. Check with our representatives on your specific applications to find out more. #industrialautomation
