#Doyouknow if premature wear occurs when an actuator is repeatedly used in one spot? In the case of an actuator that is run in a single spot, you are effectively using a singular process. When you are running a #pressing application, you are going to end up hitting the same spot multiple times, so in turn your theoretical life calculation tends to be less the number of inches you can travel, and more the number of times you can cycle to that same point repeatedly. That again plays a role in the life of the actuator. We typically do have some derating factors that we use to provide our customers with proper product life expectancy in pressing or very short stroke type applications. Check with our representatives on your specific applications to find out more. #industrialautomation

When thieves steal a catalytic converter, their goals are speed and stealth. Not precision. No one is taking the time to avoid damaging other vehicle components. 😡 ➡️ What Does That Mean for Insurers? Once the vehicle reaches the repair shop, it's not uncommon to find the damage done has spread to other areas, including: - Exhaust systems - Floor boards - Oxygen sensors It all adds up to longer, more complicated, and more expensive claims. We've seen it all. We can help. Learn about "CAT-Converter Express", our end-to-end, fully-managed solution built just for these claims. https://lnkd.in/g2-T3n4G Premiere Services - Your Comprehensive Claims Solution Catalytic Converters | Mobile Electronics | Wheel & Tire PremiereServices.com info@premiereservices.com 800-479-9945 #catalyticconverters #insuranceclaims #autoclaims

S. Himmelstein and Company answers questions they are often asked - Q: How do I protect my torque sensor from torque spikes? A: Himmelstein designs their torquemeters for infinite fatigue life provided they are operated at below ½ the overload rating. Q: Can I operate my torque transducer in the overload range? A: This is not advisable. Operation at higher torques won't damage the unit, but frequent operation in that region will reduce the sensors fatigue life and may ultimately result in a fatigue failure. You can find many more answers on their FAQ page. Answer not found? Don’t go it alone. Himmelstein's engineers are always happy to help. Shoot them email or give them a call whenever you like. - Motor misalignment and its consequences in industrial settings. Here's why it's a critical topic: 1️⃣ Efficiency Implications: Misaligned motors lead to increased energy consumption and reduced efficiency, ultimately impacting operational costs and sustainability efforts. 2️⃣ Equipment Wear and Tear: Misalignment places undue stress on motor bearings, couplings, and shafts, accelerating wear and tear and shortening equipment lifespan. 3️⃣ Vibration and Noise: Misaligned motors generate excessive vibration and noise, contributing to discomfort for personnel and potentially damaging surrounding equipment. 4️⃣ Production Downtime: Unplanned downtime due to motor misalignment can disrupt production schedules, leading to lost revenue and decreased customer satisfaction. #MotorAlignment #IndustrialEngineering #Efficiency #Maintenance #linkedindiscussion

💡#𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐄𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: 𝑭𝒂𝒖𝒍𝒕 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝑮𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒃𝒐𝒙𝒆𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑽𝒊𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑨𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒚𝒔𝒊𝒔- Gearboxes are critical components in industrial machinery, and monitoring their health is essential for reliability. Understanding fault frequencies helps identify specific issues like gear wear, misalignment, or damage. Here's how we calculate them and why they matter: 𝑲𝒆𝒚 𝑭𝒂𝒖𝒍𝒕 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒔: 1️⃣ 𝑮𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝑴𝒆𝒔𝒉 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒚 (𝑮𝑴𝑭): Formula: GMF = (Number of Teeth × RPM) ÷ 60 Significance: Highlights tooth engagement issues, such as wear or pitting. 2️⃣ 𝑺𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒃𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒔: Formula: GMF ± (n × Shaft Speed) Significance: Indicates misalignment, looseness, or eccentricity. 3️⃣ 𝑻𝒐𝒐𝒕𝒉 𝑷𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒚 (𝑻𝑷𝑭): Formula: Shaft Speed × Number of Teeth Significance: Identifies localized faults on gear teeth. 4️⃣ 𝑩𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑭𝒂𝒖𝒍𝒕 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒔: Monitor Inner/Outer Race, Ball Spin, and Cage Faults if bearings are involved. 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔: Accurate diagnosis of these frequencies provides insights into the root cause of gear and bearing issues. Proactive monitoring helps prevent unplanned downtime, extends asset life, and ensures operational efficiency. Gearbox diagnostics are the foundation of effective condition monitoring. 🚗 Brake pads wear down and must be replaced. Where does the lost material go? ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dUFbT38Y Well, some becomes airborne particulate matter (PM) contributing to air pollution and associated health issues. Brake wear particle emissions are a significant contributor to non-exhaust PM emissions and are increasingly being regulated to limit environmental and health impacts. Laboratory testing under dynamically realistic vehicle braking conditions provides a valuable tool for friction material developers and brake manufacturers to evaluate brake wear PM emissions quickly and cost-effectively. This new application note includes: 🔹 Significance and background of brake wear particle emissions testing 🔹 Laboratory setup for brake particle emission sampling 🔹 Case studies using AK Master and GTL speed sensitivity snub test protocols 🤝 Meet the Bruker expert that shared his expertise in this application note: Damien Khoo #automotive #brake #manufacturing
