More simulation modeling work at RTI International. This time it is a collaboration of RTI's Center for Data Science and AI (https://lnkd.in/ekmqtUk5) and the Center for Justice Research and Policy (https://lnkd.in/ecBTF98y). We built an Agent Based Model to better understand the behavior of crowds during soft-target attacks (eg the Boston Marathon bombing). Our work adds to the understanding of how a crowd of people reacts to an IED explosion and allows first responders and safety officials to more effectively plan for and manage evacuations and minimize casualties. This work was funded by Cybersecurity Infrastructure Security Agency's (CISA) Office for Bombing Prevention (OBP) and the Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Directorate (DHS S&T).
