This comprehensive study tackled the challenges of high transportation costs, carbon emissions, and service delays, all while striving to meet corporate sustainability goals. 📈 Using key capital budgeting tools like Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR), I evaluated four strategic options: 1️⃣ Maintaining the existing Phoenix distribution center. 2️⃣ Building a new center in Pontoon Beach, St. Louis. 3️⃣ Leasing space in Wood River. 4️⃣ Utilizing an underground facility with low-cost refrigeration. 🎯 Recommendation: Building a new distribution center in St. Louis offers the best balance of financial feasibility and environmental benefits. This move aligns with KPG's goals to reduce emissions, improve product freshness, and enhance customer satisfaction. This project was a fantastic opportunity to blend finance, operations, and sustainability to drive meaningful outcomes.
