The Health Innovation Network has produced a summary detailing the success of its Lipid Management and Familial Hypercholesterolaemia (FH) national spread programme on improving cardiovascular health. The programme, which ran from October 2020 to March 2023, was successful in increasing the uptake of lipid lowering therapies, increasing the identification and management of people with FH, and enabling adoption of endorsed pathways. Over 9,000 CVD events, such as heart attacks or strokes, may have been prevented as a result, and many more people have been genetically confirmed with FH.
