However the drive functioning and heads stability is not the same on that Hitachi-HGST drive with the lid off due to the heads stack screw missing that runs through the lid. That screw is important for keeping the heads stack vibration to a minimum for stable reading.

Another masterclass by the cyber industry global expert, Jim Richberg. My view is that in other high risk sectors (e.g. aviation) the study of errors and cause is routine so I echo Jim's point.
