Them: Why did you guys get into Cybersecurity? Me: Why not? I’ve spent a good portion of my career split between general staffing and tech recruiting. And when I really think about it, the answer is pretty easy. While I’ve forged some damn good relationships across the board, there was always something that kept me coming back to IT infrastructure and cybersecurity folks. I guess I’ve just always had a huge respect for the “silent professionals” in IT… The ones working endlessly behind the scenes doing everything they can to keep their companies, employees, and customers safe. It’s pretty thankless work… And it’s virtually never ending. You never hear about the hundreds of thousands of threat actors they’re battling every day… Because they have no choice but to focus on being better than the guys on the “other side”. That, paired with how humble and passionate they are about their jobs. That’s why. #cybersecurity professionals…I see you. I thank you. And I got your back 😎

We notice many companies advancing in developing tools to detect potential cyberattacks. But these businesses still need humans with the skillset to collaborate with the news they've created. With cybersecurity talent in short supply, businesses face heightened vulnerabilities and increased exposure to cyber threats. How big is the gap? According to data from CyberSeek, the cybersecurity workforce in the United States comprises around 1.1 million individuals. However, there are currently over 500,000 vacant positions in this field. Looking globally, Cybersecurity Ventures predicts that by 2025, the shortage in the cybersecurity workforce worldwide could reach approximately 3.5 million individuals. Are you doing enough to protect your company's data and systems? It's imperative for companies to assess their readiness and resilience in the face of these challenges. Now is the time to prioritize cybersecurity measures and bridge the skills gap. Investing in training, recruiting top talent, and implementing robust cybersecurity strategies are crucial steps in fortifying your defenses against cyber threats.
