The future of #blockchaintechnology in a #postquantum #era This topic is of significant #blockchain #cybersecurity interest and research. As #quantumcomputing advances, it poses a potential threat to the #cryptographicalgorithms that #secure #current #blockchainsystems. To address this, the field of #postquantumcryptography is developing #cryptographicsystems that are secure against both quantum and classical computers, ensuring the #longevity and #security of #blockchaininfrastructures [3]. One of the key approaches being explored is the implementation of #quantumresistant #cryptographicalgorithms. For instance, #latticebased #cryptography is believed to be resistant to #quantumattacks and could serve as a foundation for future #blockchainsecurity [3]. Additionally, organizations like National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) are working on #standardizing #quantumresistant #publickey #cryptographicalgorithms, with some recommendations already in place [2]. The Quantum Resistant Ledger (QRL) is an example of a #blockchainprotocol that has been designed to be resistant to #quantumattacks from the outset [2]. This indicates a proactive approach within the #blockchaincommunity to prepare for the #quantumera. Overall, while quantum computing presents challenges, it also drives #innovation in #blockchainsecurity, ensuring that these systems can continue to operate safely in the face of evolving technological landscapes. #QuantumSafeBlockchain #QuantumHomeWork #QuantumAwarness #QuantumDay Source: Conversation with Bing, 01/05/2024 (1) The Role of Quantum Computing in the Future of Blockchain. https://lnkd.in/eu9XHQfP. Security for web3 is still in the Dark Ages. I've been investing in security for the better part of a decade but have only been exploring the security landscape in web3 for a few years. On the surface, you'd expect a modern and fully decentralized architecture to be much safer than legacy financial systems, but the sheer volume of cyber attacks in crypto-world is staggering. The one thing I keep learning is that while the blockchain layer itself is almost impenetrable, the application layer (smart contracts) and user identity layer (custody and wallets) are barely protected at all. As Eyal Meron, CEO of spherex technologies likes to say - "Paradise for the hackers, nightmare for the defenders". A few months ago we hosted Ouriel Ohayon 🇮🇱, Sam Eiderman & Eyal Meron for an open discussion on web3 security, moderated by the wonderful Meirav Harel. I'd love for you to watch this short clip with highlights and if you're interested - the full video is in the first comment. spherex technologies | Zengo Wallet | Utila | Bentzi Rabi | Oren Fine

Cybersecurity: Past, Present and Future🚀 Once upon a time, social engineering was as simple as a phone call, a suspicious text and even phishing links. Fast forward to '2024', and we’re now dealing with deepfake-powered scams where AI imitates original voices and faces to trick, deceive and manipulate victims. It’s not just tactics that have evolved, technology has too. Think about the switch from IPv4 to IPv6, or how firewalls and antivirus tools have become sophisticated ecosystems of defense. I mean we have the NGFW- Next Generation Firewall. Something that didn't exist a while ago. What’s next? Cybersecurity would always evolve because technology constantly gets better and attackers would always device tactics to keep up. As defenders, it’s our job to stay proactive and ready for the challenge every technological advancement would bring✊ 💭 What do you think is the next big cybersecurity challenge we’ll face? Blockchain? Cryptocurrency? Quantum Computing? Web3!? #akinsurupamela #cybersecurity #tech
