This past half a year the Ars Electronica Futurelab was closely collaborating with the new IT:U- Interdisciplinary Transformation University Austria for their pilot semester the FOUNDING LAB. IT:U aims to tackle the topic of digital transformation from an interdisciplinary and international perspective. The FOUNDING LAB is a collaborative prototype with which the IT:U and Ars Electronica want to identify and develop new methods and formats for shaping a pioneering university. As part of the Futurelab team that was aiding the Founding Lab project, I was involved in organizing six Deep Dive Talks. Six lectures given by experts from different fields, who all deal with the topics of Art, Technology, and Society in one way or another. Curating these speakers was a fun challenge and I am proud of the selection we managed to obtain! You can find all the talks here: https://lnkd.in/drGwqBAf The speakers were as follows: dr. Ryan Wittingslow talking about his book 'What Art Does: Using Philosophy of Technology to Talk about Art' Tech visionary Oscar Ekponimo, who is active as an entrepreneur aiming to utilize digital transformation to address food security in Africa. dr. Tega Brain, Associate Professor at NYU who is active as an artist working on the interface of ecology, data, automation, and infrastructure. Go S., CTO of Godot Inc, an AI startup that aims to contribute to the furthering of an inclusive society. Marta Peirano, a Spanish journalist, researcher, and author who is specialized in the relationship between technology and power. and my dear coworker Yoko Shimizu, who is sharing her work as an artist, and the type of work we do at the Ars Electronica Futurelab If any of you are interested in these topics or these talks, I can highly recommend checking out any of the talks!
