This week, many families are preparing to celebrate Diwali (di-vah-li), a festival of lights observed mainly by people in the Hindu faith tradition. The holiday symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. The video below explains its significance. Interesting fact: Earlier this month, Pennsylvania passed a law with bipartisan support recognizing Diwali as a public holiday - the first state to do so. With North Carolina having more than 440,000 Asian American residents, and Indian Americans making up the largest ethnic group, will it be the next state to make Diwali a public holiday? https://lnkd.in/eQx-xBpX
