Reflection Friday - learn and study the new things but ... With all the latest shiny offerings such as Artificial Intelligence and most things to do with a cyber edge, it is easy to forget about the human component. Some examples of what I am talking about would include empathy, compassion and ethical judgement. By all means, learn about these wonderful and critical technologies but, as great and as necessary as they are becoming, there are things they can't do. The human in the loop is vital. Reminding ourselves of this fact is always a good thing! Get in touch if you need support in being the best you can be. Continuing our journey with partners (such as Blavatnik Interdisciplinary Cyber Research Center) who share our values of creating a global community dedicated to innovation and education, especially within cybersecurity. I'm thrilled to share another project with 8200 For Startups by EISP "The IDF in general, but also the 8200 Unit, is an incubator for ideas, enabling people to acquire the skillset, knowledge, tools, and potential co-founder networks, preparing them to start their own companies once they're out of the military," says Chen Shmilo, CEO of 8200 alumni association. Perfectly phrased, Chen. I can relate. After ten years in the defense, HLS, and cybersecurity sectors, I'm thankful for the skills, tools, and opportunities I received at DDR&D (MAFAT) - Directorate of Defense Research & Development. In Chapter #98 of Digital Conquerors, I explore the transformative journey and enduring impact of Malcolm X, a pivotal leader of the American Civil Rights Movement. From a troubled youth to a powerful advocate for justice, Malcolm X’s evolution offers profound insights into radical change, systemic transformation, and resilience—essential qualities for tackling modern cybersecurity challenges. 💡 Key Lessons from Malcolm X for Cybersecurity: 1. Challenge Conventional Wisdom: Malcolm X constantly questioned established norms, highlighting the need for innovative thinking. In cybersecurity, this means rethinking outdated models like perimeter-based security and adopting bold approaches like zero-trust architectures. 2. Advocate for Systemic Change: Malcolm X sought deep-rooted changes to address systemic injustice. Similarly, cybersecurity requires comprehensive frameworks that address underlying vulnerabilities rather than mere fixes, fostering sustainable improvements across people, processes, and technology. 3. Embrace Adaptability: Malcolm X’s journey from separatist to global advocate reflects his adaptability. In cybersecurity, professionals must adjust strategies in response to evolving threats, integrating AI, advanced threat detection, and automation to stay ahead. 4. Empowerment Through Knowledge: Malcolm X believed in the power of education for self-empowerment. In cybersecurity, continuous learning, training programs, and knowledge-sharing empower teams, building stronger defenses. 5. Resilience in the Face of Adversity: Malcolm X’s resilience drove him through adversity. Cybersecurity professionals must cultivate resilience to navigate high-pressure situations and recover from incidents effectively. Malcolm X’s life and legacy remind us of the power of innovation, adaptability, and resilience in driving meaningful change—both in society and in the digital realm. 🔍 Discover how Malcolm X’s strategies can shape your approach to cybersecurity in Digital Conquerors. 📖 Get your copy on Amazon: Get Digital Conquerors Here! https://lnkd.in/eCwcN9TC #DigitalConquerors #Cybersecurity #MalcolmX #Leadership #MakeHistoryMatterAgain #NewBook #Innovation #Resilience
