This article from MIT Sloan had some good insights. I often think about how crucial it is to keep learning these days. My colleagues often ask me, "How do you keep up with everything?" In my work with different organizations on their transformations, I've seen that the clients who stay updated on what's happening and focus on their own growth really motivate their teams to do the same. Creating a space where curiosity is welcomed and trying things out is encouraged makes a difference. Learning doesn't have to be formal. It can be as simple as reading up on market trends or sharing an interesting article with teammates. When companies get on board with this approach, they’re not just staying updated; they’re paving the way for new growth and a better understanding of their industry. #ContinuousLearning #Leadership #BusinessGrowth #Innovation

I love this article on 1. the importance of life long learning, 2. how to continue to prioritize our professional growth and 3. how leaders can help their teams to prioritize their learning. My only additional thought is that leaders need to make it a priority themselves. I'm calling it "Learning by Example." When leaders make time for their own learning and share it with their teams, they demonstrate that it's not only important, but that they make time themselves to learn. What have I learned lately? Well, I'm digging into how to create a custom GPT. Look out world. #Learning #LearningQuotient #MIT #Leadership #LearningByExample

Learning is critical for success because it enables continuous improvement, adaptation, and innovation. It matters for 4 reasons (something extra to the article*). 1. Adapting to change: In an ever-evolving environment, whether in business, sports, or personal life, the ability to learn helps individuals and organisations remain relevant by adapting to new trends, technologies, or challenges. 2. Problem solving: Learning cultivates problem-solving skills by allowing you to draw from various experiences, knowledge, and feedback to make better decisions. 3. Continuous improvement: Lifelong learning fuels the ability to continuously improve, sharpen skills, and become more effective over time. 4. Resilience: Learning helps individuals and organisations bounce back from failures or setbacks by extracting lessons and making necessary adjustments. --- Here's something I learned about today. The OODA loop as a feedback tool, which is something we are trying to improve in our company. The OODA loop is an iterative decision-making process that can be used as a feedback strategy to learn, adapt, and improve performance. It stands for: - Observe: Gather data from your environment or feedback on actions taken. This could involve reviewing performance metrics, analysing customer feedback, or assessing the outcome of a decision. - Orient: Analyse the data and put it into context. This step involves pattern recognition, identifying trends, and reflecting on how they align with your goals, beliefs, and knowledge. Consider how past experiences, new information, and biases might impact your interpretation. - Decide: Based on your analysis, make a decision on next steps. This is where you determine what changes, if any, need to be implemented to move forward effectively. - Act: Implement the decision. Once the action is taken, it feeds back into the observation phase, creating a continuous loop of learning and adapting. The OODA loop is one model for gaining feedback and improving through reflection and adjustment. I'm going to start using it today. #learning #learninganddevelopment #performance

One of the major keys to business innovation and growth is a culture of continuous learning. I learned this very early on from Len Petrancosta. With the pace of change we're seeing in the business landscape, it's more important now than ever before for employees to develop new skills. One of the best ways to set you and your team members up for success is by linking purpose to learning. #Leadership #ContinuousLearning #LifelongLearners
