How AI summarizes CYTOK - hydrogen pirates 🖥 We use #AI for text suggestions, image creation and summaries in our day-to-day work. And we also edit, change and add to the content. When we asked AI: “Give me a summary of CYTOK - hydrogen pirates”, we got: "CYTOK: Hydrogen Pirates is a science fiction novel that explores the future of the energy market, environmental issues, and a technologically advanced society. The story is set in a world where hydrogen has entirely replaced fossil fuels as the primary energy source. In this new era, various factions battle for control over scarce hydrogen resources, with environmental issues and power struggles between industrialized nations strongly influencing the plot. The protagonist joins a group of rebels known as the "Hydrogen Pirates." These rebels, well-equipped with advanced technology and trained in guerrilla tactics, aim to undermine the hydrogen monopoly controlled by major corporations. The conflict between the pirates and the corporations develops into a complex power struggle where both the environment and the future of energy supply are at stake. Alongside action-packed confrontations, the book delves into ethical and social questions arising from dependence on hydrogen as an energy source. The story addresses the clash between corporate greed and the rebels' pursuit of fair resource distribution, illustrating how technology can be used both for oppression and liberation." When we asked AI“Generate a picture of this summery”, we got the attached picutre. Maybe AI can see into the future, which means that we will still be around for many years to come, so everyone invest. 😎 Perhaps the current AI hype is also the usual exuberant step that will cool down and normalize. We will continue to use AI because it offers advantages, especially for young companies. But of course with the necessary caution and intensive control of what AI holds as knowledge or content. And we will work to ensure that the future of energy supply does not become a dystopia. By the way, we are real and yes, we are capturing hydrogen. 🧪 AI predicts winning chemistry for solar power (and beyond) tl;dr: Researchers just used AI to predict the best chemical "recipe" for more efficient solar cells, smashing through a barrier that normally takes years of trial and error. * * * 🤯 The Big Picture: Imagine trying to bake the perfect cake, but instead of following a recipe, you have to randomly throw ingredients together and hope for the best. That's basically what discovering new materials has been like... until now. An interdisciplinary team at the University of Illinois used machine learning to predict the exact chemical properties needed for top-performing solar cells, cutting through years of lab work in a fraction of the time. 🔬 What it means for You: This is huge, and not just for clean energy. This breakthrough has the potential to truly revolutionize how we discover any new material, from more efficient batteries to life-saving drugs. This means faster innovation cycles, cheaper production costs, and a wave of groundbreaking discoveries across industries. 🚀 My take on it: This is a great example of how AI is changing the game in scientific discovery. By removing the guesswork from material design, we’re accelerating progress, and unlocking possibilities we could only dream of before. The future is looking bright, and it's powered by AI. #Innovation #AI #SolarPower #MachineLearning

In an interview at Milken Institute, Musk begins by asserting that AI might be the most important question of all, highlighting the significance of this topic. He then makes a striking claim: the percentage of intelligence that is biological, or human-based, is diminishing with each passing month. Musk predicts that eventually, the percentage of intelligence that is biological will be less than 1%. However, he clarifies that this does not mean biological intelligence will become obsolete. Musk acknowledges that biological systems, unlike silicon-based circuits, are more resilient to environmental factors. He suggests that biological intelligence can serve as a "backstop" or "buffer" for intelligence, implying that it could provide a backup or supplement to AI systems. Despite this acknowledgment, Musk emphasizes that almost all intelligence will eventually be digital or computer-based. This leads him to ponder a profound question: "What role will there be for us?" – referring to the future role of humans in a world dominated by AI. Musk then shifts his focus to the importance of developing AI systems that are beneficial to humanity. He stresses the need for adhering to certain principles when building AI, principles that he has contemplated extensively in the context of AI safety. One principle he highlights is "maximum truth-seeking." Musk believes that AI should be designed to seek and express the truth, even if that truth is politically incorrect or unpopular. He argues that AI should not be taught to lie or say things that are untrue but should instead communicate what it believes to be true. The mostly unspoken side of AI! While we are all quick to welcome AI into our daily lives, AI's role in climate change is complex, as its operations demand substantial energy and water resources, raising questions about its environmental impact vs its potential benefits in addressing ecological and disaster challenges. Tech giants like Microsoft are investing heavily in AI infrastructure, such as data centers and supercomputers, exacerbating the energy consumption issue. Despite efforts to use renewable energy sources, AI's energy demands outpace sustainable solutions, posing a significant challenge to the existing power grid. Increasing renewable energy infrastructure faces obstacles like bureaucracy and resistance from utility companies, hindering timely implementation. With AI development accelerating, there are concerns about meeting electricity demands, leading some to advocate for nuclear fusion breakthroughs. Lack of transparency from tech firms regarding AI's energy consumption and environmental impact complicates efforts to address the issue effectively. In the short term, AI's energy demands may outweigh its environmental benefits, but in the long run, it holds potential to contribute positively to sustainability efforts. However, achieving this balance requires transparency, accountability, and concerted efforts from policymakers and society. https://lnkd.in/dZyHAisa

It's official: Time to go Beyond AI: What really matters in technology & society by 2030 THINK LARGER. IMAGINE. PREPARE. My new speaking topic AI is now a general purpose technology, and the platform ‘for everything' – yet AI is clearly not the panacea or the magic wand many entrepreneurs, tech-moguls and Silicon Valley investors have envisioned. It's time to look beyond AI. While we certainly need to get ready for the 5 hyper-exponential technological game-changers (quantum computing, nuclear fusion, synthetic biology & nano-technology, genome editing and geo-engineering) we also need to ask this crucial question: What kind of future do we want? In this talk, I outline what to expect by 2030, while correlating the technological breakthroughs with wider societal developments such as the rapidly accelerating climate emergency, technology regulation, global governance and global consciousness, the rise of GenY & Z, global demographics and various important geopolitical mega-trends.

Looking to connect with people and groups working on the societal impact of AI (or, AI for Good, to put it that way). I’m thinking specifically of things like long term planning for job replacement and economic shifts, democratization of tools/means of production, distribution of resources, new economic models, etc, as AI’s ‘productivity’ advances. That as opposed to efforts like drug discovery, renewable energy, etc, which I think of more as scientific disciplines with big societal ramifications. Thanks in advance for any connections and recommendations! #AI #AIforgood #Society #equity #future
