A company culture that values employee well-being is crucial for organizational success. Allowing employees to take time off to enjoy a good day promotes a healthy work-life integration and can have profound benefits including: 👉🏼Increased Productivity 👉🏼Reduced Absenteeism 👉🏼Improved Employee Engagement 👉🏼Better Hires 👉🏼Overall a Healthier Workforce 🤔 The big question is how? Employers need their workforce to do the work (whatever that may be) and an unreliable workforce can negatively impact productivity. Here are some tips for employers to strike a balance: 🎯 Set clear goals so employees can manage their priorities. When the manager and employee know what they are working towards, a few days off won’t impact the outcome. ✅ Say yes as much as possible without question. There will be times when a deadline is looming or an emergency pops up that a manager will need to ask for flexibility from the employee. The more flexibility offered to that employee in advance, signals that on occasion when an extra push is needed is the exception rather than the rule. 🏖️ As a Manager, lead by example and take time off for fun too. This allows you and your employees to return to work and laugh about that fun time at the beach. When a policy allows for a variety of reasons for time off, employees won’t feel the need to lie about why they are taking the day off and can continue to enjoy its effect for days. 🛑 Hold employees accountable if they abuse the flexibility. This is hard because it’s a fine line. I recommend making these conversations about how the time off is affecting the employee’s performance and goal achievement. Have you, as the manager, had to step in more frequently for this individual? Did it impact team members who had to cover for this person more often? Have deadlines been missed or met but with lower quality results because of rushing? I should note that this is not addressing issues when employees NEED time off due to illness, to care for a family member, or other pressing needs. These matters need to be handled somewhat differently due to leaves that may be available. #Hr #humanresources #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #hrconsultant #hrconsulting #humanresourcesconsultant #humanresourcesconsulting #oneleaderatatime #corporatetrainer #publicspeaker #publicspeaking

In today's workplace, the life of an HR professional is all about balancing different tasks and helping employees thrive. They handle everything from hiring and training to creating a positive and inclusive work culture. With new HR technologies, they can spend less time on paperwork and more time on improving the employee experience. Modern HR practices focus on diversity, flexibility, and supporting work-life balance, making employees happier and more engaged. Outside of work, HR professionals often need to juggle their personal lives with the demands of their job. They must continuously learn and adapt to new trends and laws, which can sometimes be challenging. However, many find their work rewarding because they get to make a real difference in people's lives. The skills they develop, such as communication, empathy, and problem-solving, are valuable both at work and in their personal relationships. As HR continues to evolve, these professionals remain key in building workplaces where everyone can succeed and feel valued, while also striving to maintain a healthy work-life balance for themselves. #HRLife #EmployeeExerience #WorkLifeBalance #EmployeeEngagment #Futureofwork
