As their website states: "In order to identify the areas that care the most, WalletHub compared the 100 largest cities across 38 key indicators of a compassionate spirit. Our data set ranges from the share of sheltered homeless people to volunteering hours per capita to the share of income donated to charity." Another key indicator: residents who work in caring/helping professions.

This is Jacqui, the Support Services Coordinator at Girikon's Client Organisation: Council of Single Mothers and Their Children (CSMC). Jacqui and her team provide single mothers with the specialist support and information that CSMC is known for. Now Jacqui is speaking out and asking for your help. CSMC's Support Line Workers say they have never had as much unmet demand as now, and the need has never been more acute. The need for support and information has always been high, but demand has skyrocketed due to the cost-of-living crisis. Single mothers who call CSMC's Support Line need help now, but the sheer volume of calls means that many are having to leave messages and wait for a callback. "The Agape Center is different." We hear that from so many of the clients we serve. And we get to tell them that the "difference" is God. They're seeing Jesus in the people volunteering at Agape. Please join us! There are so many ways to help! 1. PRAY for this ministry. For those being served and those who are serving. 2. DONATE gently used or new items that we need or donate money to purchase them. 3. VOLUNTEER to serve once a month or on Tuesdays or Thursdays. 4. WRITE our newsletters to keep the public and our donors aware of what's happening. 5. BECOME a grant writer to find funds to help us afford to continue serving our community. 6. DRIVE a client who has no transportation to and from an appointment, getting to know them and offering encouragement. There are examples of SOOOO many ways to help.
