Wrapping up a very enjoyable visit to the Centre for Health Economics at the University of York. A big thank you to Nils Gutacker, Joe Spearing, and the CHE-colleagues for the warm welcome and engaging discussions.   During my visit, I attended and presented at the REAL Supply Research Unit’s “Economics of Health and Care Workforce" Workshop. This event brought together a group of researchers focused on the healthcare workforce. We discussed challenges such as retention, recruitment, and variations in practice styles. Challenges that are common across the UK and Denmark 🏥💼   My presentation was based on ongoing work with Benjamin Chibuye, PhD and Line Bjørnskov Pedersen. Our work is a part of the WELLCARE-project and is within the realm of understanding variation in practice styles. More specifically we shed light on the importance of physicians’ altruism for opioid prescribing and adherence to clinical guidelines 💊📊 ... Much more to come about this work... And other exciting studies from the WELLCARE-project!
