AEEE is organising a Stakeholder Consultation Workshop on Deploying Low Carbon Levers in the Carpet Cluster of Bhadohi (Uttar Pradesh) on 7 December 2024 at All India Carpet Manufactures Association (AICMA), Bhadohi. Organised in association with AICMA, this workshop will focus on building awareness among MSMEs in the state on energy-efficient and decarbonisation technologies. The outcomes will inform AEEE’s study on Uttar Pradesh’s MSME sector, identifying clusters where low carbon levers such as electrification of thermal processes, energy efficiency, alternate fuels, carbon capture, and other cleaner technologies, can be deployed. The goal is to establish Uttar Pradesh as a leader on climate action by adopting a low-carbon development pathway for decarbonization of the industrial sector in the state. Explore how Triveni's solution improved water quality at Hussain Sagar Lake, enhancing the environment and well-being of the local community.   Hyderabad’s Hussain Sagar Lake, a key tourist attraction, had deteriorating water quality due to the absence of proper sewage treatment in the surrounding area. To tackle this, Triveni helped the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) established a 20 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant at Picket Nala as part of its lake restoration efforts. The plant uses the A2O (Modified Activated Sludge Process) technology with Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) and Membrane Ultra Filtration to treat sewage. This advanced process removes harmful nutrients like phosphorus and nitrogen, reduces total suspended solids, and ensures clean water is safely discharged back into the lake. The final step involves disinfection with chlorine for added safety. This initiative is a crucial part of restoring Hussain Sagar Lake’s water quality, making it cleaner and healthier for the city and its visitors. Baddi is one of the most polluted cities in the state of Himachal Pradesh. 😶🌫️ Our research findings emphasise the need for better understanding of pollution sources, identification of control technologies and collaborative sustained action for improving the air quality levels in the city. 📅 On January 2nd 2025, iFOREST organised a webinar on Air Pollution with local experts.
