🚨 MikMak Live Newsroom Update 🚨 Today, I’m joined by my partner-in-crime from our Paris office, Valentin Bayard, our Data Product Manager, to dive into the latest insights on TikTok’s ad traffic and what’s happening outside the US—including potential involvement from the EU Commission. Here’s what the data is telling us right now: 📊 7% of MikMak’s total US paid media traffic is now going to TikTok—marking a return to pre-shutdown levels (January 18). 🏢 Most Fortune 1000 brands are still playing it safe, sending less than 1% of their total paid traffic to TikTok. 🏆 Who’s winning? Alphabet Inc. and Pinterest continue to dominate as brands shift their ad dollars. The big question: When do you think TikTok traffic will return to MikMak’s typical range of 25-35% of total media traffic? Drop your thoughts below! 👇

The new YouGov study on the UK Media Landscape landed in my inbox this morning. Big News! (he says marginally sarcastically) YouTube > TikTok... across all age groups. Growing at a faster rate over the last 4 years, and used 42% more than the youngest age range, 18-24. Should you stop advertising on Tik Tok? No. Should you advertise on YouTube if you're not already? Probably. Should we all temper enthusiasm about trendy platforms and not put the TikTactical cart in front of the strategic horse? Definitely. Sure there will be examples when brands have grown significantly on individual platforms, but I'd be willing to bet they have a larger, full channel plans rumbling behind the hype. This image highlights the contrast between traditional and social media. The microphone symbolizes "Old Media," which refers to conventional platforms like newspapers, radio, and television—static and fixed in their approach. On the other hand, "Social Media" signifies the digital age of communication, characterized by dynamic and interactive platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The distinction illustrates how media consumption has evolved from one-way communication (old media) to two-way, participatory communication (social media). #OldMediaVsNewMedia #DigitalRevolution #SocialMedia #TraditionalMedia #MediaEvolution #DigitalMarketing #SocialMediaMarketing #ModernCommunication #MediaTransformation#vCodeTechnologies
