🎮 🎓 📊 We've teamed up with Albane Rives an assistant professor in statistics at the Faculté de médecine vétérinaire - ULiege , to introduce statistics and innovate how the subject is taught. Recognizing the challenge many students face with this subject, we've created an innovative game-based learning platform. Our new game challenges students to treat and analyze data to understand the effectiveness of veterinary plans. It aims to deepen students' understanding of the need of statistics by putting them in realistic decision-making situations where statistics can be applied. Key features of our game: - Data Recording: The responses made by the students are recorded and exported to Excel, allowing us to analyze their thought processes and refine our teaching strategies. - Integrated Feedback and Support: While the game provides real-time feedback, students can also ask questions during the course, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience. We're thrilled to see positive early feedback from the students who've played the game, and we're motivated to keep developing games that transform educational experiences and enhance student autonomy. 𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐝 The dream of an average Science Student is to study Medicine. 🧖 I was an aspirant at first but I later found another passion of mine. 🙋 🤔 Then, I thought to myself if not medicine what else could it be? I mean I can't be stuck to one particular course. I am more than that. 🤠 Animals! I yelled. What else could it have been? If not Human Science then Animal Science will do - leading me to the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ibadan. I refuse to be stuck in the mud of my belief system. 🐄 Here I am studying so hard to become a renowned Nutritional Biochemist and Animal Health Consultant. All thanks to God, my Mentors, Motivators, Friends, Frenemies and colleagues. With them all, studying Animals has been worth it. 💫 You know one thing I have discovered over time is that some students are too hell-bent on a particular course. They believe others are way below their league or they might not be societally accepted. 🎗️The potentials God has given you is not streamlined to one particular course my dear. Explore others! Don't be stuck in the mud of your beliefs. 🎗️ Look for things that bring you Joy and Peace and pursue them. Be focused and determined but flexible. 🎗️That you weren't selected for a particular course is not the end of the road. Explore! God might even be telling you that your desire is not His will for you. Therefore, why waste your time? This concept cuts across all spheres of life you know. Just apply the principle. Just launched 📢 - the Animal Production Science journal Collection on 'ADSS 2022: A Changing Climate for Dairy Science'. This special issue of Animal Production Science brings together a collection of research and review papers presented at the 2022 Australasian Dairy Science Symposium. The Australasian Dairy Science Symposium is the largest meeting of dairy scientists in the southern hemisphere and has a unique focus on pastoral dairy systems 🐄. The theme of the 2022 symposium was ‘A Changing Climate for Dairy Science’ so while this special issue includes papers on a range of topics including dairy cattle welfare, extension and adoption pathways, impacts of heat stress, supplementary feeding, artificial breeding technologies and novel milking schedules a common theme throughout the papers is addressing the challenges faced by the Australian and New Zealand dairy sectors.
