Important reading for budding synbio entrepreneurs - we need to get the infrastructure in place to scale up and scale out - we need open source standards and metrics to enable and accelerate commercialization and we need realism from startups and investors in the non healthcare space. Synbio is the only technology that will allow us to make all the chemicals materials fuels drugs and food we will need sustainably in a rapidly changing world - Whist making money is essential for synbio companies and investors there is also an existential risk to our future if we we don't make this industry grow and succeed. We need public private partnerships, we need technology diffusion into the global south and we need to grapple with the less-shinny (HARD) bits like how do I biomanufacture and deliver my bioproduct to the market in an economically viable and sustainable way using synbio technology.......

Brilliantly put by Paul Freemont. It’s not just the shiny products that #SyntheticBiology needs to create. Methods and tools to reduce development times and costs, a sustainable infrastructure for development, and standardisation of process are essential components to a ensure a thriving #biotech sector. At ŌGI Bio we’re focusing on just that: how do we give #scientists the tools and the time they need to make a difference to the planet. ŌGI Bio #TimeToDiscover

Exploring the transformative potential of industrial biotechnology in Europe. As we stand at the cusp of significant advancements in 'white' biotech, it's crucial for the EU to leverage its innovation capacity for sustainable manufacturing and to meet the 2030 net-zero targets. The moment is ripe for policy and regulatory innovations to fuel the transition. How can we shape a future where industrial biotech drives European competitiveness and sustainability?

Industrial Biotech: A Path to Pharma Success As I am constantly learning about the pharma industry, I came across an article highlighting the potential of industrial biotechnology in Europe. This field isn’t just about sustainability; it’s about gaining a competitive edge. Europe's strong research capabilities put it in a prime position to lead in industrial biotech. For pharma companies, this means the chance to enhance R&D, streamline processes, and bring new therapies to market faster. The EU's Green Deal aligns well with these opportunities, promoting sustainability while driving innovation. However, turning research into real products requires supportive policies and investment. A Practical Example At Capptoo, we've seen the benefits of staying ahead of biotech trends. One of our pharma clients faced delays in product launch due to long regulatory approvals. By adopting biotech-driven practices and using our advisory services, they cut down approval times and improved sustainability, leading to quicker market entry and stronger positioning in the industry. The Takeaway Pharma companies must stay updated on biotech advancements especially in how they work and can speed up processes while staying 100% compliant. Aligning with these trends and ways of working can unlock new opportunities and improve efficiency of large corporations. At Capptoo, we help businesses navigate these opportunities. Reach out if you’re interested in how a "biotech approach" can drive your company’s growth. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/e2pcFZMf #IndustrialBiotech #PharmaSuccess #Capptoo #CXAdvisory

💡 “This Bioreactor is like the Thermomix of Biotechnology." That's how I explained our Cultitech Bioreactor to a friend who had no idea what fermentation bioprocesses are. The more I think about it, the more the analogy makes sense: 🌐 Just like Thermomix makes cooking effortless - an all-in-one that cooks while you scroll through LinkedIn, no burning risks, turning anyone into a decent chef - our Cultitech does the same for biotech! Look at the parallels: 🔬 All-in-one biotech powerhouse: Integrating everything needed for bioprocess fermentation ⏱️ Time and risk reduction: Automated measurements, washing, and sterilization ✅ Consistent, high-quality results: Advanced control systems ensuring reproducibility 📈 Simplifying complex workflows: Making bioprocesses accessible and manageable This is why I love what we do at Cultiply - democratizing fermentation bioprocessing so companies can scale up and get to market faster.
