No one is holding their breath for your next big product idea. It might be brilliant, and the temptation to start the development might be more alluring than that stupid apple in the Garden of Eden. Yet, do not do it. Unless you have already sold a screenshot to a couple of customers. I've made this mistake more times than I'm willing to admit, building something and then continuing to build because: - It sounded sexy. "We are building an app." Back when it was all the rage. - I was absolutely convinced that it was the best idea since memes. - I half-assed the research because I was afraid of finding a competitive (read 'better') product that would shatter my crystal ball of delusion. - I started believing in my own tales. "Who wouldn't want that amazing product?" Probably no one! Unless their eyes light up when they see a screenshot. Chances are they wouldn't give a rat's behind to the product, either. And if you are concerned that someone will steal your 'game-changing' idea, actually, that is also a validation. By all means, go for it. Speaking of selling screenshots, wanna buy this one? Don't build just because your idea sounds great. Sell a screenshot first, and let genuine interest guide your next steps.
Love the different applications that the platform can be used for!
Haha great point - subject matter experts often lose themselves in the stuff way too soon. Great lesson!
You make a clear point. It's wise to test ideas with real interest before diving in Maheep Gupta
