A practice I’ve developed over the years is to identify three words or phrases that provide a focused and disciplined approach to the New Year: a holy trinity of inspiration, motivation, and celebration. As we welcome 2025 together, I pray you and yours are in the midst of a memorable Holiday Season toward a wonderful start to a promising New Year! https://lnkd.in/eztiYh5x

Today in the Mid-Atlantic, as the first warm rays of the year enfold us, we're not just witnessing a shift in weather, but a profound transformation within our very beings. This moment marks an awakening, a renewal that transcends the mere blooming of flora and signals an opportunity for personal rejuvenation and collective unity. 🌞 Remember, the advent of warmth is not merely a temperature change; it's a harbinger of possibility. Beneath the surface, there lies dormant vibrancy, ready to erupt in a spectacle of color and life. This mirrors our hidden potential, reminding us that no winter—no matter how bleak—is eternal. Embrace this day as a testament to resilience, a beacon guiding us toward new dawns filled with promise. Moreover, this day beckons us to reforge our connections: with the nature that surrounds us, the communities we are part of, and the depths within ourselves. As the parks fill and laughter reverberates, let these shared experiences remind us of our inherent connectivity. It's a time to dismantle the barriers erected during the solitude of colder times, inspiring new friendships, enriching existing bonds, and fostering moments of profound interaction. Let this day ignite a spark within you. Let it be the catalyst that propels you towards action, breathing life into the dreams and projects that have simmered quietly through the cold months. Whether it’s turning the soil in anticipation of a garden, embarking on a journey to enhance your health, or giving life to a creative vision—now is the moment to realize those aspirations. Harness today’s energy and channel it into making your ambitions tangible realities. As we move forward, let the essence of today—a blend of warmth, hope, and connectedness—reside within us. In facing challenges, let us do so with unwavering optimism. In nurturing relationships, let us do so with open hearts. And in pursuing our dreams, let us do so with fearless determination. This day is more than a transition between seasons; it’s a call to live passionately, authentically, and with gratitude for every moment of joy and warmth that comes our way. Here’s to embracing this journey, with all its potential for growth and fulfillment. 🌷🌱

JOIN ME ON THIS END OF YEAR INNER REFLECTION JOURNEY The fifth question on our inner journey of reflection together is: What am I ready to let go of this year? 💫 What does letting go mean? It means releasing our attachment to something that is not serving us positively. Some examples of things to let go of: -Fixed ideas and limiting beliefs -Thoughts, feelings or emotions that may be harmful -People who don't uplift and support you -Expectations -Things from your past that keep you stuck Letting go is a process and in my opinion it is one of the hardest things we can do but becoming aware of what we want to let go of is a powerful first step. One more question until the winter solstice tomorrow and the completion of our inner journey of reflection together! *See previous post(s) to learn about what this journey is about

Thought for Today - Your life doesn’t get better by chance, it gets better by change. Positive transformation in life is a result of intentional actions and decisions. Embracing change, rather than waiting for circumstances to shift on their own, empowers you to take control of your destiny. By setting clear goals, taking proactive steps, and being open to new experiences, you create the conditions for growth and improvement. Each small effort contributes to a larger journey of personal development. Recognize that your future is shaped by the choices you make today, and by embracing this proactive approach, you pave the way for a more fulfilling and enriched life. https://lnkd.in/eggPU4m8

Life has a way of throwing curveballs, especially when we’re least prepared. But here's the truth: challenges don’t define us; how we respond to them does. When things don’t go as planned, it’s tempting to throw in the towel—but perseverance is where the magic happens. Every setback is an opportunity to learn, grow, and adapt. Stay focused on your vision, trust your resilience, and remember, even the most inspiring success stories began with moments of struggle. Keep pushing—you’re closer than you think! #Mindfulness
ROP (Return on Potential) is my favorite acronym although I’m an MD, PhD, MBA, CFA & a bunch of other acronyms people think matters. 4x’ing ROP @ Harvard, MIT, & Stanford & Founder/CEO of a multibillion dollar VC firm.
We all have grand plans, and sometimes… Things exceed our expectations Other times We are right on plan And, well, er… The rest of the times are “do overs.” It’s really how we respond to adversity and challenge that dictate our destiny. We all know that failure isn’t just a possibility… It is an inevitability. And, we shall fail repeatedly Sometimes privately And other times Publicly and even humiliatingly. When we imbue self compassion and humor in those moments we acknowledge that Our self-worth transcends our actions And that gift to ourselves allows us to go at it again with renewed enthusiasm. So as we wrap up our (holiday) weekend and embark upon a new week Perhaps we can find areas where we can transcend our foibles and offer ourselves the gift of the redo.

A great Sunday reminder…. Things will not always go perfect and sometimes you will even have complete failure…. Own it, get better and give others an attractive example to follow… How many of us could own this well? #attitude #growth #joy #continuousimprovement

Ever made a mistake? We all have. But how we handle it can define us more than the misstep itself. Instead of hiding or making excuses, own your error. It's a bold move that can turn a misstep into a moment of growth and grace. Remember, mistakes are not failures; they're opportunities to shine. By owning your errors with grace and style, you'll not only build respect but also enhance your personal beauty.

As we mark the end of another year, it's essential to acknowledge the significance of closures in our lives. Whether it's the conclusion of a friendship, a romantic relationship, a business partnership, or the overcoming of a financial crisis, one thing remains constant: the invaluable lessons we glean from these experiences. These endings, though often difficult and daunting, offer us a chance for reflection, growth, and renewal. They prompt us to reassess our priorities, reevaluate our goals, and rediscover our passions. As we bid farewell to the past year and embark on a new chapter, our focus shifts to the opportunities and growth that lie ahead. The start of a new year symbolizes a clean slate, an invitation to reinvent ourselves, to try new things, and to push beyond our comfort zones. As we step into this new cycle, we're reminded that every ending marks a new beginning, and that every experience – no matter how challenging or painful – holds within it the seeds of wisdom, strength, and resilience. So as we welcome the dawn of a new year, let's honor the lessons of the past while embracing the promise of the future. Let's hold onto hope, cultivate gratitude, and nurture our dreams. For in the words of the poet Rumi, "The wound is the place where the light enters you." May the light of wisdom, love, and growth illuminate our paths as we journey into the unknown, and may we emerge stronger, wiser, and more radiant with each passing year.
