The holiday season often feels like an extrovert’s playground. Between the endless parties, bustling shopping malls, and festive gatherings, the pressure to make everything perfect for everyone can leave you feeling stretched thin—especially if you thrive in quieter, more reflective moments. Doers and Connecters often feel at home in this season of action and connection, but for Planners and Stabilizers, the pace can be overwhelming. But what if this year, you focused on a holiday that nurtures both you and your loved ones? Rather than feeling like the season demands more of you, let’s reimagine it as an invitation to less—less noise, less stress, and less pressure to be all things to all people. Instead, embrace the beauty of a quieter, more intentional holiday by cultivating space, sensitivity, and silence. Because even though the world displays Christmas as a big, bright, blinking holiday, I think the advent season is really a quiet, soft, and slow holiday that celebrates the beauty of introversion. Stabilizers and Improvers, this one is for you. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gkFN3shw

Ideas for Positive Holiday Interactions Here are a few ways to connect with your loved one this season, inspired by principles of respect, purpose, and engagement: 1. Simplified Traditions 2. Meaningful Conversations 3. Shared Purpose 4. Quiet and Calm Activities Creating a Warm and Inclusive Atmosphere Sometimes, holiday gatherings can be overstimulating for older adults. Be mindful of their comfort by: • Keeping gatherings small and familiar. • Setting aside a quiet space they can retreat to if needed. • Watching for signs of fatigue and adjusting activities accordingly. Even in a group setting, find ways to include them meaningfully, like sharing a toast in their honor or inviting them to lead a short blessing or toast. TIP 2/8: ENJOY THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH EASE AND INTENTION As Christmas draws closer, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle—juggling endless events, rushing to wrap up work commitments, shopping for countless gifts, and trying to perfect every corner of your holiday decor. But what if you paused and asked yourself: What truly matters to you this season? 1. Is it finding healing and making peace with loss? 2. Is it nurturing meaningful connections with those you care about? 3. Is it carving out moments of quiet reflection and inner peace for yourself? By setting your intention, you’re choosing to focus your energy on what brings real meaning — not what society or social media tells you is necessary, or tradition says you should be doing. Here are some practical tips to set your intention this Christmas: 1️⃣ Set Your Priorities - Write down 2-3 things that are most important to you this holiday. 2️⃣ Say No Gracefully: Decline activities or commitments that don’t align with your priorities. 3️⃣ Start Small: Pick one tradition or act of kindness that resonates deeply and let that be the heart of your celebrations. Reflection Question: What is one "seed" you want to plant intentionally this Christmas that will grow into a meaningful experience? Share your thoughts in the comments—let’s inspire each other to cultivate a season filled with purpose and joy!

The holidays are here, and so is the season of juggling gift lists, perfecting holiday meals, and surviving endless family debates about whose roast is better! For some, it’s a magical time. For others, it’s... well, let’s say a little stressful. If you’ve ever found yourself hyperventilating over tangled Christmas lights or getting upset about the person who “forgot” Secret Santa AGAIN, don’t worry - you’re not alone! Instead of rolling your eyes (yes, Aunt Martha, we know it's store-bought cookies), try this instead: 👀 Look up - literally. Changing your gaze can shift your mindset. 🌬️ Breathe deeply. It's a reminder that you are safe and in control. 💡 Reframe—it's not chaos; it’s... festive energy! The holidays aren’t perfect, and they don’t need to be. Let’s trade anxiety for laughter, deep breaths, and making good memories. Click on the link above to visit my website for a quick guide on my "Eyes Up" technique. Season's greetings Rosemarie D

Do you wish the holidays were over? If you trimmed a Christmas Tree did the memories of each ornament trigger emotions? Did they make you smile? Or, were you sad or angry? Are other decorations difficult to look at? Of course, you don’t have to display all of them. Put out the ones that give you comfort. Are you stressing about holiday gatherings? Sometimes the anticipation is worse than attending. But, if you don’t feel up to it, you don’t have to go. You can arrive late or leave early. If you are fretting about it, talk with your host or hostess before the event. I’m sure they will be fine with a late arrival or early exit. Do what you can and don’t worry about the things you prefer not to do. If something you see triggers a memory, whether it is happy or sad, it’s okay to cry, be happy or both. Consider starting new traditions or changing old traditions that bring new memories. Find a way to honor your loved one. If you’re not sure how to get through it, schedule a call with me. Talking through your challenges can help greatly and put you on a better path to find enjoyable moments during this holiday season. Schedule a complimentary call now! https://lnkd.in/eVx7qzvH
